wlad-Vitali may happen

Boxing self-suicide. The sport is half-dead as it is.

Re: wlad-Vitali may happen
It would be nothing more than a freak show, it won't happen.

BIGMARK, I like you and I like your posts but on this one you seriously need to go back to bed and sleep off that hangover.BIGMARK wrote:personally i would love to see this fight and it would be huge. I dont think there has ever been a case of two brothers fighting each other for a world title and the hype this would be off the clock.
Re: wlad-Vitali may happen
two brothers beating the crap out of each other would indeed be a sad spectacle
Re: wlad-Vitali may happen
Will never happen. And should never happen either.

Every year or so they drag this story up.
Re: wlad-Vitali may happen
Glorified sparring session, at very best.
Re: wlad-Vitali may happen
A lot of brothers have battered each other in sparring (I think the term is known as sibling rivalry), particularly the Finnegans and the Quarrys, but we all remember the sad father & son spectacle quite recently which, thankfully, was not picked up by the anti-boxing tabloids (the Daily Mail, for one), but normal people the world over would get to hear about this one and regard 'the noble art' as just the opposite.
Re: wlad-Vitali may happen
A father and son fought in Germany and were really trying to knock each other out. The father was grossly overweight and soon blew up but just about managed to survive to the end to lose on points.BIGMARK wrote:i am a bit slow today, so what was the sad father & son spectacle quite recently?bennie wrote:A lot of brothers have battered each other in sparring (I think the term is known as sibling rivalry), particularly the Finnegans and the Quarrys, but we all remember the sad father & son spectacle quite recently which, thankfully, was not picked up by the anti-boxing tabloids (the Daily Mail, for one), but normal people the world over would get to hear about this one and regard 'the noble art' as just the opposite.
Re: wlad-Vitali may happen
absolutely. they would pull their punches and it wouldn't be a proper fight. it sounds like complete bullshit. i'd rather see klitschko brothers vs walsh brothers tag team fightDioufy wrote:Glorified sparring session, at very best.

I think Sr was the promoter and was trying to save the show after the son's opponent withdrew.

Now id definetly pay to see that
Re: wlad-Vitali may happen
It would give us the undisputed heavyweight champion that boxing needs.
I don't see a problem with two brothers fighting.

the thing is, it's not about what boxing needs. it's about what the klitschko brothers needHorse wrote:It would give us the undisputed heavyweight champion that boxing needs.

Re: wlad-Vitali may happen
anybody who falls for this is an idiot. it wouldn't be a fight.
Re: wlad-Vitali may happen
Harry Duiven Jnr, who recently fought Mike Perez, once slugged it out with his grossly overweight old man, as someone here already pointed out. I think the sick spectacle ended with the father being KO'd :surprised:

Re: wlad-Vitali may happen
Does anyone actually think if this fight came off that they would go all out?
It would be a boring pitty pat sparring session.

At least there would be a new champion (unless it was a draw).banjo wrote:Does anyone actually think if this fight came off that they would go all out?

That is the one bonus if the fight does come off.Horse wrote:At least there would be a new champion (unless it was a draw).banjo wrote:Does anyone actually think if this fight came off that they would go all out?

Re: wlad-Vitali may happen
they've got all the aces, they do what they want.Horse wrote:In what way?Autobarn wrote:the thing is, it's not about what boxing needs. it's about what the klitschko brothers need
if one of them picks up the WBA title, then the klitschkos are "undisputed" anyway.
why fight each other - it means there's one less klitschko to make easy money?

Re: wlad-Vitali may happen
It is not a fight to the death. The losing Klitschko can pick up the belts the winning Klitschko vacates and they would still be the top two fighters in the division.Autobarn wrote:they've got all the aces, they do what they want.
