Ali wouldn't've gone out for the 15th. Neither fighter should have.
Yeah Ali was going to quit....I musta forgot.

Dundee might've been able to coax him back into the ring, but based on the health problems he showed after that fight, the 14th round of the third Frazier bout should have been the last he ever boxed. Ever.

Yes, in a NY second.

Would Frazier have been forgiven if he hit Ali with one last big punch in the 15th and Ali collapsed in a coma?

Probably not, in some quarters.

p.s. Gil Clancy always felt Futch made a terrible mistake in not sending Frazier out for the 15th in Manila. His reasoning? He thought Ali would have gone with one last big punch from Frazier.

Granberry (aka SuperZelenoff) would have been proud of this fantasy.

Futch? He was right there and could see there was no hope for Joe, he was no traitor.....and because of his caring and prudent action Joe was at least in good enough shape to go forward and manage a "draw" with Jumbo.

Collins, by "bought and paid for" are you suggesting that perhaps there is popular sentiment or mindset that Joe rightly won that encounter?

- Joe held a grudge against Futch for that decision. He has been less than complementary about Futch.

After Thrilla, Joe rematched Foreman, something Ali shied away from in spite of $ub$tantial offers. Cummings was not about going forward. It was about scratching an itch.

granberry (aka ThisModernLove) is campaigning to have the result changed to a TKO for Frazier.

DaveV's crusade is to have the 2nd Ali - Norton fight recognised as being a landslide points win for Norton.

DaveV (aka JohnGalt) is very bitter because we all laughed at his scoring of the fight 10-1-1 for Norton.

He was so upset he created a 2nd username which he then used to log on with and pretend he was an independent unbiased "expert" who also thought Ali only merited one round in that fight.

These clowns provide some great free amusement in here. The best one, by a country mile, is Jimbo. Unfortunately he is sulking and won't post at the moment.

Collins is our diligent guard at the gate. He finds the phonies, sets them straight and demands that they get a clue or withdraw from the discussion. He recognized my weaknesses right away, informed me where I needed to improve and directed me to the "Boxing Enthusiasts Academia Reform Institute" . Where I have been studying diligently for many months. I was perhaps in the second or third several dozen focused analysts to recognize flaws in the 10-1-1 Ali/Norton II scorecard. If that doesnt impress you, I was also recently promoted to "Novice Enthusiast Second Class" by Collins himself. However another regular (barry aka bazza) was not given the option of reform and was treated to the old "heave ho" for his woeful and vain pugilistic promulgations.

LOL, Collins doesn't know enough about boxing to score a fight. If he watched a fight, he wouldn't know what he was watching. A person like Collins, who has to whine to the moderators about other posters is not the type guy who knows anything about boxing. LOL. Granberry made Collins look stupid so Collins whined to the mods until they barred Granberry.

If you want to know how Collins scored a fight, just see how Bert Sugar scored the fight. That is Collins' hero and he always agrees with Bert.

I have been away and only recently came back, but I'm hoping Granberry was not really barred.

As far as I'm concerned, he knew his stuff and was good at cutting though a lot of the hype surrounding a certain ex-champ.

Yancey, I agree with you. Gran did know his stuff, but Collins whined to the mods everyday until he got Gran barred. Collins says that Gran can come back now, but if Gran started posting again, Collins would start whining again and the cycle would start over.

Some of the posters on this board read Sugar, Mailer, and Hauser and any viewpoint that conflicts with what they write offends them. Collins in particular tries to censor any opposing views.

I hope Gran starts posting again. His posts were interesting and well thought out.

Gran? He used to PM me and ask what I was wearing. He reminded me a lot of Ken Kaniff.

Gran won't start posting any time soon. He is still mad as hell that the mods deleted his racist rants.
