Bring on WELLIVER vs. KIRBY!

Post by Chauncy »

Me and Craig Thomson are working on possibly putting together a show in New Zealand December the 5th. Long ways out, and not even 100% we'll do it. Although, if Michael Kirby agrees to fight me in a defense of his OPBF title, we will make the show happen, no if, ands, or buts.
All we need to do is make an agreement on the money for Kirby. Money is not big in boxing in New Zealand or Aussie at the moment, so if he shoots to high, we'll know he just does not want the fight and will overprice himself so he does not have to fight a legit top 10 contender for his title.

Lets do this fight Michael. You have said you want the best, and I keep saying I want the OPBF title. Let's make it happen.

I'll even offer to do it winner takes all! :TU: :box:

Hey Chauncy, what is with this Kelvin Davis you are fighting next month? A 5'7" cruiserweight?

i think Michael has a few fights planned in between now and that date. No offence to Michael, but there may not be a title to fight for.

Gogosina Ulutoa is the only one lined up on the BoxRec schedule right now. He is a top ten Heavyweight... in New Zealand.

I have residency in New Zealand. I will be fighting in both America and NZ this year. Was hoping to fight in OZ but the offers are just to little. Hopefully Kirby holds the title in December, because I believe me and him will be matched up well. :box:
Should he lose the title leading into December, I will shoot the same offer to whomever holds the title at that time. It's not any particular fighter I want, it's the OPBF. :TU:

Ulutoa is VERY raw and Kirby should get him out of there inside 2 rounds if hes on form. I cant see it going the distanc eeven if Kirby is having a bad night! Ulutoa will come to fight though!

Kirby VS Welliver is the kind of fight the fans would love, both guys come to fight both have granite chins and both dont mind mixing it up! It will be a WAR Kirby has always been one to take on all commers just hope this fight against Ulutoa is a stay busy fight and not a sign hes now targeting easy wins................

Michael Kirby is the champion and if Chauncy OR any other heavyweight boxers want to fight for the OPBF title they have to fight where THE IRON RHINO wants to fight and at this point its in AUSTRALIA so our fans can watch these fights live.

I agree David.

Why have it in NZ so we can't see it. Have it in Aus on a Fox sports card or even the new 10 HD channel.

It is a fight people would like to see. But then again any fight The Iron Rhino is in is going to be a good fight.

N2S and Chauncey both have mentioned that the coin on offer is not enough in Australia. I find it strange that the purses are bigger in NZ than here.

N2S...rough figures, what's the difference dollar-wise?

I have been waiting all day for someone from his corner to come on and tell you what a great fighter Kelvin Davis is, so i guess they know thats just another chance for another W on a massively padded record.

Mate i don't know if you noticed, there always seems to be something to do with money with these guys," this guy wants too much money" "we sent that guy a contract, but they scared",
Guys like Colin Wilson and Co would fight for a carton of piss and change, so why arent you calling him out.

I once suggested to Chauncey to fight some of the more expierenced guys, then he suggests that he would like to fight kim Heta, because Kim had a title?????
For the record Chauncey, Kim lost that title to Justine Whitehead who was 1-0 entering that fight.

Heaven forbid chauncey that when you finish your career that no one remembers you, because you chased these bullshit titles your entire career, that everyone in the industrie or know, knows mean nothing.

How on gods green earth could NZ provide more money to fight than in Australia, please explain.

Chauncey i admit in your 40 fight career you have fought 1 decent fighter, but to accomplish that in 40 fights easily suggests your only in it for the money.
I don't think IMO that these guys are asking for more than they worth, i think you might simply think your worth more than you are, it's a nice looking record chauncey but who have you beat of note? and why should the champion travel to your home to fight you?
IMO Kirby who is a good fighter shouldn't be the guy you are calling out, but hey he has a title right? :shame:

Mate you wont find any records on me, i've had 6 "semi-professional" bouts 3x2min and 4x2min fights under professional rules but they are not full professional bouts. Im not a fan of the amateur style so these bouts are to build experience before going Fully professional without having a amteur background! Make sense? I dont claim to be the next great white hope for the record also! LOL

It's all about the money in this game, and in these hard time. Look at Meehan turning down a title fight. :-?
An offer of $2500 Aussie dollars and I pay my own way isn't a tough offer to beat to get the fight in NZ. It's not that the money is great in NZ, it's just that the money we're gonna offer Kirby is bigger than what they offered us. There's your explaination for how there's more money in NZ.

As far as fighting a better opponent, you named Colin Wilson. Would love to fight him, and with him being a Born Kiwi, I could put on the NZ title, but with the beating he took against Shane Cameron it'll be a tough one to promote, but let's do it.

And Kirby does have a title, and title he KOed Nathan Briggs for, and thats the same Briggs who beat Wilson for the same title. I wanted the same title when Wilson had it, so it's not as if I'm here picking on Kirby.

Haumomo has turned down a couple fights with me. Hoppa as well.

Mirovic has flat out said no because my style "will make anybody look bad!"

DeMori fights in the States now.

Leapai and me was offered to fighton Shane Camerons card this past Sept but Leapai said no.

Hoppa wants a couple tune up type fights they have said.

Who's next?

As far as me calling out Heta, yep, I did call him out, but once again, it was for his belt, not that I figured he was a great fighter.

Why should a champion come to my home to fight me? Because his home doesn't think enough of him to put up some cash. If they put up decent cash and the belt, I'll be right over.

So here's the question, if not Kirby, who do you suggest I fight? Because IYO you think Kirby is good, but not the guy I should call out. If he's that good, he'd fight me. I have a blown up record. He's beaten guys with much more experience than him before. :TU: :D

what about Cronje or Briggs? They were the only ones (except Meehan) not mentioned as opponents.

I don't know much about Cronje. I'd love to fight him if we can get some sort of regional title on the line. I know I push a lot for titles, but I'm not gonna lie, I love titles. There fun to show off!

I would love a briggs fight also, but last time we worked on that they would only agree to do a 6 and he had the OPBF at that time. He's another that I could put up my NZ title up against as he is a born Kiwi.

Meehan is on a mission. I would love to sit here and call him out but it would be to no avail. Plus he'd box me silly. :KO:

:DDD

I just wanna get any good regional title so I can work my way up and try to hit the World rankings. :TU:

You were waiting all day for someone to tell you How great Davis was!?! Why wait for that? he's not even a household name in the Davis household!

And if you're waiting for me to say it's gonna be a good fight, you're gonna wait awhile for that too. It's a homecoming of sorts, and Kelvin is a former champion that looks good on a poster. It's a great business fight and it will sell out. :TU:
