Re: usa nationals
If the Regional winner won P.A.L., doesn't the region get to select someone else to send?
Re: usa nationals
The boxer actually decides who he or she is going to represent. If PAL, the region can select the runner up; if region, PAL can select the runner up.If the Regional winner won P.A.L., doesn't the region get to select someone else to send?
Re: usa nationals
Jose Benavidez Jr. is going to win. He just won, the national golden gloves.

Re: usa nationals
Some matches in the making ...
106 pounds - Fabian Cervantes vs. Keola McKee and Miguel Cartanega vs. Marco Rangel
112 pounds - Louis Byrd vs. Leroy Devilla (Very close fight at national golden gloves, Byrd won it cause he didn't get tired and kept boxing)
119 pounds - Jesus Magdeleno vs. Ra'shuee Warren (Jesus has to beat Isaac Torres in quarters but semi final match up here)
178 pounds - Siju Shabazz vs. Jeffery Spencer (The top 4 boxers were all at the bottom bracket)
201+ - Lenroy Thompson vs. Michael Hunter (2nd round match up)
Matches in first round - Roman Morales vs. Jesus Magdeleno - Wasn't as mis matched as scores, Roman was up like 2-1 or 3-1 and about one minute left in first round Jesus scores 7 quick points. Roman was down I belive 8-2 at the end of first. 2nd round was much of the same, both just boxing and Jesus scoring like crazy. It was like 16-3 or something at one point. The last round Jesus stayed away knowing he had a big lead, but still managed to score 10 points. Roman hurt his had and says he can't make 119 pounds anymore after the fight so look for him at 125 in the future. Jesus is young I expect him to move up weight next year too.
Errol Spence vs. Greg Carter - Not as close as I thought it would be. Errol basically out boxed him easily. Carter didn't throw hardly any punches until they were locked up. It was like 3-0 at the end of first and like 6-1 at the end of two. In the third round Errol was hittin him with some clean punches but got a little too clumsy and got a point taken away from him, otherwise the score would have been 9-1, maybe more but after that deduction Spence knew he had to stay away.
178 pound division went according to plan. Williams had a tougher match than I thought he would and I didn't think Brant would handle Cramer that easy. Like I said Shabazz, Anthony, Spencer, and Crane all had to box each other to make it to the semis so now it looks like Shabazz after yesterday.

106 Miguel Cartanega vs. Marco Rangel
this is a rematch from the NGG, Cartagena won a 5-0 des, lets see if marco get DQ in this one IMO he should of got DQ at the NGG. holding, using his he as a punch, all around dirty

Re: usa nationals
Anthony looked flat the entire fight, but managed controlled the action until the altitude got to him around halfway through round 2 at which point he started throwing only one punch at a time, while Siju continued to throw combinations.DCAmateurBoxing wrote:Any feedback on the bouts below from anyone??

Siju was unable to really connect with anything solid in the fight, and most of his points were accumulating touching a tired Dorian at the end of arm punches as Dorian gave him angles.
In round 3 Dorian was given an 8 count after receiving a pretty bad elbow that caused an abrasion inside his lower lip.

jesse hart beat #1 ranked luis arias 165
Re: usa nationals
Yes, the fight was war. Both fighters recieved 8 counts. Luis was dropped once, and was visibly hurt, but he covered up well survived, and came back banging hellish body shots to the right side of Jesse. I don't remember the score, but it was one of the better fights of the night.PHILLYSTEVE wrote:jesse hart beat #1 ranked luis arias 165
