Re: usa nationals
Very good fights in afternoon session ...
(All I Seen)
106 pounds - Miguel cleary took care of business in beating Marco Rangel again.
119 pounds - Isaac Torres was really quick and slick in the first two rounds and was on his way to beating and upsetting Jesus Magdelono till a hard body shot connected and dropped Torres. Torres could not beat the count. Warren was up 14-0 and then the red corner decided to retire so that should be a good semi matchup.
132 pounds - Xavier Montelego lost by one point while Eric Fowler crusied to an easy victory.
141 pounds - Zeddie was trailing for most of the fight and then scored plenty in the final round to tie the scores. I thought he won the fight and did in fact pull it out.
165 pounds - Jesse Hart won and is looking very impressive so far this tournament.
178 pounds - Robert Brant landed a quick short uppercut to KO the 178 pounder from Texas in the third.
201 pounds - Javonte Charles and Frederick Samuels was a slow boxing match. A lot of holding and each got points taking away. At the conclusion of the match, Samuels was ahead on points 10-7, but after the refs and officials took a look at the handwraps, he had too much wrap or something and was DQ'd. So Charles is the winner.
201+ pounds - Lenroy Thompson and Michael Hunter was a good match. Hunter was ahead by three heading into the final round but could not hit Thompson at all. Thompson picked his shots and was scoring and chipping away at the lead. He eventually tied it up at 7, but with litterally one second left in the fight, Hunter scores a quick right and wins 8-7.

What about the jo's
Re: usa nationals
Gary Allan Russell did box here. This is the younger brother of the Olympian.
Rau'shee Warren won his bout today. I didn't see it, but I heard he dominated his opponent.

Re: usa nationals
I know Tremaine Williams put a nice fight together to beat little Russel. Russel was too slow and couldn't catch him, I believe it was 14-8. Shaun Simpson and Brandon Love both moved on to the finals. The only one I cought a clear look at was Carlos Chavez and Ray Ximenez and Ximenez won this match. Chavez didn't look as good of a boxer this match or this tournament but still a good boxer. Those are the only ones I cought I'll know who are in the finals tonight.
Re: usa nationals
Tramaine dec. Ray Ximenez-16-5
in finals

Nope, I dont have a clue who they are fighting. I think Zeddie said he had Jose Benavidez, but I am not sure. Asking your kid to give you info is like pulling teeth. This crap with USA boxing is horrible. How do you fire people at a time like this. Zeddie said that Julie was walking around smiling. I guess we will have to rely on each other for results. Are you there DC?

Re: usa nationals
Are you kidding me? If I was there, I would have video online before USA has posted the results. So that we aren't just going off of a million different opinions (I KNOW MEL, VIDEO DOESN'T TELL THE WHOLE STORY) - because I feel like I'm playing "operator" getting 2nd and 3rd hand info. I heard the exact opposite about Julie. I'm sure the truth is somewhere in there, but at least with video we aren't relying on people's memories or interpretations. I am going to try to get in contact with anyone video taping and believe me-I'll put it up as I get it.ZMOMMI wrote:DCAmateurBoxing wrote:Stop braggin'!! No, I'm joking. Congrats.
