Froch or dodson....who will win?

What's everyone got against Froch? He's a little surly but so is Alan Shearer and everyone likes him.

He's got a lot of skills, good chin, fast reflexes and good in ring personality. What more could you want?

First off this thread has been laugh a minute cheers all!

For my two penneth, I dont mind Carl, I think he has sufferred through the overhyping fomr the Beeb, I mean that cartoon was just freakin ridiculous, then they more or less drop boxing into oblivion, what a joke.

But thats not carl's fault.

I dont think he is gonna be the next super middle weight sensation but I think he can get to European level and consolidate, if he loses some of his bad habits (hands too low as discussed above) being one of these, then lets see.

Yes he does come acrross a bit arrogant but hey dont most boxers? Its all part of the game isnt it? Some on here seem to think he is carrying on like Hamed before his fight with Barerra, that was arrogance to despise not what Froch has exhibited so far, not in my opinion anyway. Cocky, self assured, certainly, over the top arrogance nah I dont think so.

Also I think that Froch has been taking on a decent level of opponent for how many fights he has had, this being a common moan on this board I personally think he doesnt get the kudos for this that perhaps he should.

we moan about it enough so how bout a bit of credit where its due? His fight with Adamu in only his 11th fight was no easy ride as we know, and while there were some alarming defensive frailities highlighted the overall maturity of the performance to come back and win, when facing defeat was admirable, showed guts and determination and to floor him in the 8th decent power.

Thing is I quite like Tony as well, to be hoinest Ive got nothing against either fighter and hope its a cracking fight. Im certainly looking forward to it.

Froch is a complete toss. An arrogant little tit. With Naseem you either liked it or didn't, with Ali you just liked it, but with people like Froch trying to be arrogant, you cannot possibly warm to them. I personally hate the c**t and don't know many people who like him. The whole Cobra thing is a complete joke as well. Lets see him get sparked by an overhand right as he tries to look good by keeping his left down.

Dodson by KO. BRUTAL Ko please.

in my opinion yes you are, but thats your right and opinion and I respect that. Bit unnnessecary to call him a **** tho I reckon.

I have nothing personally agaisnt Froch, and I think if he corrects some of his bad habits he could go a lot further, but so far, he seems unwilling to make those changes.

Froch has pretty good power, decent if not exceptional reflexes, and a very good chin, however, his insistence on keeping his left by his bollocks is madness, he isn't nippy enough to do a Roy Jones act, hell, even Roy Jones cannot get away with it any more, and his reflexes have only just slipped recently.

It really doesn't bother me if a boxer comes across as cocky or arrogant, it goes with the game as far as I'm concerned.
I always liked Eubank, Nas, Honeyghan, Lewis etc, and I don't mind Froch either.
He seems to generate a lot of hate, and I can't see the reason why to be honest. I hope he does well - he's obviously a big talent, but he does take some risks that with that style of his, and it might get him found out at European level. Dodson's a good test, one I think Carl should get by.

Difference is that those guys all had the ability to back up their mouths. I've seen little that would suggest that Froch will fufill his claim that he'll become an undisputed champion, and that's where his problems lie. Yes, by all means talk the talk, but performances have to be delivered if you're going to act like a champ after only a handful of fights. It's his inability to acknowledge the faults he has that really earns my dislike. He talks and acts like he's already made it, when in reality he's a average, novice pro at the moment.

I know what you mean, but all those guys were talking like that from day one too. Calzaghe as well, as it happens. All attracted their fare share of hate as a result, but it comes with the territory I guess.

He is above average to be fair, his performance against Adamu at that stage of his career was pretty good, but as you say, there's a long way to go before talking of taking on the world. However, it's all part of the hype machine, being a shrinking violet is no way to promote yourself.

Yeah, maybe average was a little harsh, but he's not much above that level at this stage. And i agree about the self-promotion, but i get the impression that Froch actually believes in what he's saying, whereas other fighters are totally different away from the cameras. Maybe the arrogance is a façade, but it just doesn't seem so.

And yes MW, there's nothing like a cocky attitude to polarise opinion.
