It's about time the BBB of C, all their top promoters and Sky TV sat down in a big room and thrashed out a big deal for a set number and standard of fights.

The big problem with boxing is that there is no storyline, or reason for fighters to fight one another.

We need a deal that will get boxing on a Saturday night with a bill of at least 2 or 3 decent fights and exposure of a decent prospect.

With the BBB of C and the promoters guaranteeing certain fights for a certain price i.e. Fury Vs Price in 18 months, Khan Vs Murray (PPV), etc etc, the standard will be good, the action regular and matches can be set and built up over months and even years.

Maybe 30 weeks of boxing, being 15 headlined by British Titles, 6 By European, 4 for inter continental/commonwealth with the rest world titles involving Khan & Haye on PPV. :??

ITV are still showing boxing most months. John Murray is on this Saturday.

Whilst the rumours are not positive, they might be persuaded to continue....I mean nearly everyone was going nuts about no coverage for Froch-Taylor right up until the week of the fight, yet we all saw that fight less 24hrs later. A huge panic over nothing as it turned out. They showed it again a week later, and even Eurosport picked it up some time afterwards.

Froch, Fury and Murray is good enough for them to build a good set of shows around. Problem is that I am not sure that they will be able to stump up enough cash for decent opponents and big fights. The ITV4 saturday shows have been very good though.

Decent article. I do think the only way forward is for promoters to make a series of matches between them and ask Sky for a price as a bulk deal.

ITV1 have pulled out of their contract with Hennessy sports due to the lack of Big Fights on Prime Time.

This dosent Mean that ITV4 won't renew their contract with Hennessy Sports for more Fights on a British and European Level.

Infact ITV4 would be absolute Nuts to pull out now, the jewel in the crown isn't Froch, Murray or Witter but TYSON FURY.....i mean how often does a Big Young White British Heavyweight who can Fight come along? not very often so i'm pretty sure they'll want to at least Give Hennessy a Contract to show his Fights after 2009.

Read this or today's Boxing News in print. ITV (4 and 1) are out by the end of the year – that's out of boxing completely. No Hennessy, no no-one. As the song goes, 'it's crazy but it's true'

I don't think it's good thing on the whole because it dilutes the market too much, but it seems that the future of boxing could rely on pay per view streams from boxing websites.

Lets not forget that Froch v Taylor was broadcast live that way in the UK.

This was from an earlier post about the end of the ITV contract with Hennessy. As i stated before ITV1 are pulling out of Boxing but hopefully ITV4 will at least continue to show some Boxing especially Tyson Fury.

If not than that's Terrible news for Boxing as it needs all the exposure it can get on Mainstream TV which i'd say ITV4 is seeing as it can be viewed on a Freeview Box.

The Strange thing is that Boxing always gets Good Ratings when the Big Fights are shown with name Fighters like Hatton, Khan and to a lesser extent Calzaghe, Tyson Fury would have Joined that List in 2010 if he continued his progress and fought for British and european titles next Year so it's crazy to let him go Now.

Just Show's that FOOTBALL is Sucking every TV Channel dry!

programming under review and if in the future the commercial facts change then we’ll be happy to consider
broadcasting boxing again.”
