The missus (who doesn't post here - in fact usually her only interaction with Boxrec is shouting "are you on that fornicating boxing site again?" at the back of my head) came out with a corking line last night. I was telling her about that nice Mr Warren's ideas for a Celtic belt, when she said:

I don't like him. He's far to smug for a man with red hair...

Y'know, I never really think of Frank as a redhead, probably because he's clearly not a big-time ginger, but she would seem to have a point (about the hair, I wouldn't dare to comment on the other )

There's got to be lots of users of the site who are into the history as well as seeing sweat and blood fly in the present tense. So, come on guys, how about helping this little hairstyle obsessed (not) girly find the answer to her query?

the problem with these olden type fighters is that there records can be very patchy and hard to get. perhaps if its a pressing thing you could contact Ron Olver who runs the 'Old Timers' section in the Boxing News

to be honest I fail to see the relevance whether someone is female or male and the correlation between that and their boxing knowledge.

I agree it is a male dominated sport but its more than likely there are ladies out there who have as much of not more knowledge than most of the posters on here.

There probably arent as many of them but thats cos they are too busy finishing the knitting and cooking to follow boxing

In seriousness, anyone who has been to boxing shows knows there is a decent proportion of females in the crowd, so why shouldnt they be fans and be knowledgable?
