Murray was/is always open to right handers .. none as yet have hurt him, but Khan may just be able to cut him or close the eye for him and Thaxton prob has the best chance and really hurting him.

I don`t agree Khan has improved since the Prescott fight, because who has he fought to really demonstrate so? he always would have done a number on Fagan and Barrera was badly cut and obviously not fighting to the pre-fight plan as a result.

Murray v Khan, I`d lean towards Khan on an injury.
Murray v Thaxton, Murray to up his game and demonstrate his early promise and batter Thaxton.

I think Murray will use a sensible style in a potentially "war-like" situation. You can let Lawton hit you with rights, but not, say, Jon Thaxton. I liked what I saw in the Meager fight - tight, tucked up, calm in the pocket, in range to land his good shots.

Hopefully we find out.

The immediate question is, will the Board allow Murray and Thaxton to square off for vacant belt? Not a given, is it?

I think Khan has improved tremendously when boxing offensively - the hand speed and range of punches he throws are highly impressive - however - like you point out defensively he has yet to be tested and the more he steps up the more he will be pressured and I feel when that happens he will unravel and simply go to pieces - I honestly feel Murray is the man to do that.

if murray had domestic and euro belts, he'd be in prime position to catch guys like mitchell if they fail in world title bid and perhaps if they have problems making 130. arthur as well, i'd argue - if arthur has any ambition and knows his level, that is

Khan would outbox Murray early on but later on Murray would come on strong hit him clean with a lot of shots and Khan would have no answer and he would beat him imo

i'm in 2 minds on this one.

part of me thinks khan would be too quick for him.

part of me thinks murray's pressure would get to khan in a big way.

fight won't happen anyway cos there with different promoters.

no wonder boxing is such a fringe sport these days.

Exactly, you've hit the nail on the head there, forget all the blaming of TV companies and all that, can you blame them for not buying the shite that the promoters are serving up these days?

Khan couldn't even "muller" undersized Gairy St Clair.

St Clair has just been "mullered" by featherweight Jackson Asiku.

now this a fight I look forward to :box:
I'm surprised they never made this fight happen before especially considering that they have the same promoters?

The point being is I feel Khan has improved significantly offensively since the St Clair fight.

I could be wrong but just feel there is a lot of support for Murray because he is 'a man of the people' type fighter.

You know, gets in there job done bla bla bla

If Khan was not with Frank you would all be hailing him as a god.

I honestly feel Khan wins

nor should it be, a given, that is. it's not a normal situation for a fighter to lose his title on the scales so there is no precedent. IF there was someone who had gained mandatory challenger status, for example, then i believe they would rightly be annoyed if Murray was allowed to fight Thaxton for the (vacant) title next when Murray screwed things up for himself

Re Khan - Murray. i believe Murray would start slowly and Khan could sweep the first few rounds, say the first 4, while Murray works him out

beyond that, if Khan couldn't get Murray out of there, i largely agree with Riddick Blowe, Khan's stamina and 'ring generalship' would be put to ever greater tests and he'd look increasingly more uncomfortable with the pressure. i'd have to bet on him getting stopped sooner or later.

[quote="Wrists"]Khan has vastly improved since those days.

Its a mismatch if you ask me[/quote Vastly improved, since what days?? Khan against Barrera still walked back in straight lines,i agree that Khan would box Murrays head off early on,but has he got the power to stop him?Murray certainly has the power to stop Khan, would be a great fight though,Murray for me to walk him down and stop him late on. :TU:

if we used that logic-Khan beat Lawton much faster than Murray two years ealier and with fewer fights under his belt :TU:

Lawton was coming straight off a stoppage loss v Khan.

Lawton was coming off a couple of solid wins v Murray. Also, he seems to have filled out, matured physically, got a bit stronger at the weight.

Khan is a faster fighter than Murray, so it's no big deal that he got the stoppage faster anyway. How did the Khan-Lawton stoppage go anyway, did he bundle him over with shoeshiners, or did he stop him on his feet with a flurry?

Khan v's anyone could easily look a mismatch if the fight goes his way, however he could also be distroyed by almost anyone thats why everyone like's a khan fight anything can happen,
Murray could easily beat Kahn but Kahn could also absolutely batter murray, i'm not making much sense i know but i hope you know what i mean :KO:
