Bumfights - the movie
The last time I watched Jackass some guys where riding down a hill on some kind of sledge with wheels. Thing is whenever they started to pick up speed they'd put their feet out and slow it down because they were obviously going to crash if they lost control. It was real exciting stuff...
The best people to film larking around would be 10yr old boys, not grown adults pretending not to have any fear. When I was a kid me and my mates had this death trap which was basically a steel frame with 4 wheel barrow wheels underneath (it still scares me thinking about it) and a handle at the front to steer the bloody thing. No brakes, blind corners, yeah we'd have put those jackasses to shame.

I don't know if it just me but i have never really gone in for Jackass and programmes of it's ilk, i have seen it a couple of times here and there and found it occasionally amusing but some people watch it religiously, like that Bo Selecta that's another thing i don't get
My mate at work used to emulate Jackass by drinking loads of pints of milk and throwing up etc he loved all that weird stuff

incidently am i the only one who thinks bumfights sounds too much like a gay porn film?

Not actually seen the programme in question (Bumfights that is) but I have to chime in that it sounds frigging repugnant. Then again I find Jackass et al much on that level (whoever above said "chimps dressed as humans" was spot on) and I think that Mr Mcneilly had it right with the comments about the degradation of Western culture).
It's the sort of stuff that when you watch it you can feel yourself getting stupider -- in my more paranoid moments I assume it's the military industrial complex trying to turn teenage males into either perfect unquestioning drones for use as soldiers or perfect unquestioning drones for use as voters...

While some of the skits with the bums make me cringe, the clips of actual street fights are compelling.
I cant get enough of them, honestly.
When I'm out on the town, and I notice a beef between individuals or groups, I have to make sure I dont miss the fight.
I dont necessarily want to be involved, but I'll be damned if I miss seeing it go down.
I was even able to tape a brawl at Mardi Gras2k, involving about 20 to 30 people, police included, and I have to say, it's the best video I've ever filmed.
I must have watched it and shown it a hundred times since then.
When it comes to a fist fight, I'm glued.
I haven't seen the second Bumfights video, but the first one had some backyard "fightclub" type of fights that were entertaining, in my opinion.

Given the chance I'd happily knockout that mummies boys teeth and tatoo 'ARSEHOLE' across his face. No words are fit for him and his stooges for the way that they exploited those men... a real weasal, ....very depressing that many people seem to find this 'film' funny... symptomatic really of the sick world in which we live!.

Wouldn't want to do that to him but there's certainly something wrong with filming down and outs for laughs. I'm sure this money could be better spent on other things.silkov wrote:Given the chance I'd happily knockout that mummies boys teeth and tatoo 'ARSEHOLE' across his face. Don't want to get too political but there are people starving in this world and I'm sure the money that went into making this film and the revenues obtained from it would be warmly appreciated by the extremely poor.
What would they make of all this???
This crosses the line for bad taste when you give it even a second of thought.
