Who is Dixie Brown? Or was

I work with someone who is trying to trace his ancestors in St Lucia (probably for a cheap holiday-who knows).

Anyway the name he keeps coming out with is Dixie Brown.

He says he was some sort of local hero and champion. He then moved to Bristol in England where he died.

Anyone know anything? I have looked in the records and there are about 10,000 Browns.

Someone please put me out of my misery

Sounds like you're looking for Aaron Brown aka Dixie Kid, former Welterweight champion from the 1900's. He fought the last few years of his career out of the UK.
