Well, they do appear to be one and the same, except for a couple of discrepancies.
I do know by reading 1920s newspapers lately that he was a sometime film actor at the time.
I also know that he killed a woman in 1924 (not his wife, however, as I read a day-after account of this just this past Saturday):

I do know he went to San Quentin.
But, did he get transferred to Detroit? Or kill another woman later?

But most convincing of all, I know that the Kid McCoy I'm thinking of was named Norman Selby.
So, I'll consolidate the info we have under the two separate "records."
