Who cares??

Its about common decency not making sure some no mark gets an answer to a question.

Sometimes your comments defy belief - your like that kid at school who disagrees for the hell of it regardless of what you actually think

I just always imagine Jim Rosenthal doing a link to Gabriel Clarke,

"Ok here we have some more of that seedy useless twat bugging boxers and asking daft questions, wanker".

I'd love it if Rosenthal just lost the plot and said that, I'd absolutely love it.

to be fair on the guy,, he will be asking what he is told tio ask. Clearly ITV want that style, a bit "nosey" and "personal" , and he will just be asking the sort of questions that they want him to ask.

There was a documentary about the Granada Tonight show, with Gordon Burns- when he does interviews (usually very basic stuff) he has an earpiece in, and he is actually told directly what to ask, or what lines of questioning to follow- he does have some room for interpretation.

So with Gabriel Clarke they might have said- " Ask him who was the best fighter he faced- try and build up a Thaxton - Murray fight " etc.

ITV are clearly trying a slightly different format-its a little hardh to blame the guy directly.

However, it was frustrating that they wasted time with talk when an interesting fight was going on in the ring. Alternativly, they easily had enough time to show the Phill Fury fight.

Hate the pudendum. Will always remember the Thaxton/Mezaache fight, where after the fight, Mezaache was being interviewed by Clarke, and his promotor was translating well enough, but Clarke had to talk over him just to show the viewers he could speak French. It was cringeworthy.

there's something of the Alan Partridge about him, doing the undignified jobs of the roving reporter behind the scenes when he'd rather be fronting his own chat show

Maybe on their last show before its axed in December. Rosenthal hardly does the Football anymore so he could say it, and run the fornicate out of itv never to turn back. Priceless moment.

But Clarke does my nut in. He looks creepy, asks stupid questions and the wrong time and stutters and stumbles his way through the backstage area. Worst moment was after Thaxton v Mezache. He called Mezache's manager French when he was Swiss, and then proceded to "impress" us all with his French by attempting to translate Mezache's interview-something his manager was doing a perfectly fine job of. You were left with three people talking at once and just noise.

There's an awful lot of Partridge about him. Anyone got timelines on their progression?

Oddly, Clarke has been Sports Reporter of The Year 3 times!!

Rob Walker is a little more tolerable, but he is on the same lines... He did the funniest ever interview of a boxer on Setanta once - in which he started doing a Michael Buffer impression.

Remember that, it was at the first Hayemaker show from Sheffield with Ryan Rhodes, it was funny  Come to think of it, he did a better job than the bloke who's MC'd the last few Hayemaker shows.
