The American heavy tells Tris Dixon he dominated Rogan in sparring and thought his fight with Sexton was awful.

Doesnt seem sort of confidence I think Rogan would beat him he may beat Sexton though. I think Rogan will win the rematch KO at around the 6th round I think

He would beat them both, comfortably too.

Still, how long has he been a pro now and he is just starting to call out such luminaries as Sexton and Rogan...

Give it another 6 years and he even start to look at fighting a top 20 heavyweight.

What is the point in slagging off sparring partners?

It has just made me dislike him.

Is there any Current Heavyweight Boxer that KINGPIN hasnt actually called out?

He hasn't got HBO or SHOWTIME backing him so can't get the Big Fights which is a Shame as he has some pretty good skills although no where as good as he thinks.

All of Johnson's fans could use Rogan's taxi to get to the fight.
Actually, the one in the back could stretch out... If Dawson was on the same bill, his fans could share the same cab!

Adios.

Buncey you come across pretty condescending and disrespectful to Dawson and Johnson. Dawson would beat any version of Calzaghe for my and many peoples money, hes a real talent. I haven't seen much of Johnson but he looks like he may be a talent

As a boxing reporter shouldnt you report and promote the best talents instead of talking about who has the greater fan base

Johnson would KO both Rogan and Sexton - Johnson doesn't just have a jab - he has a world class jab and how many heavyweights do you know who can utilize boxings most important punch?

I like Rogan but he would be cut up to bits against Johnson, Sexton would be outjabbed, outmauled and knocked out.

Kevin Johnson looked good in his last fight and he defenetley has skills. I have no doubt he would defeat Sexton but he would probably have a tougher time with Rogan. That being said I think its more likely he beats and cuts up Rogan to win comfortably than vice versa. He talks a lot of trash but he is a decent fighter! Not in the league of the Klitschkos, Hayes, Chageav, or Povetkin, but a solid second string HW who beats all but the elite in my opinion.

So basically, skill set and talent matters little if you don't have a good story about you!?

Boxing is a pudendum at times.

The business needs people that attract people. Johnson and Dawson are fine fighters but nobody cares about them (Dawson's recent fight against Tarver was in a disco).
I'm in the "keeping boxing popular business" -Sexton and Rogan rematch will sell four times as many tickets as Dawson/Tarver.
The business is not fair...have I ever told you about the time Don King put his beefy arm on my shoulder and said..."Steve, let me tell you....
Purists confuse what is right and reality. Purists should go ask little Calderon how he feels - Bob Arum calls him one of the best fighters of this generation but the HBO suits tell him that he has to be exciting to get on TV.

Johnson against Sexton is a great fight. However, if Johnson wins, he goes back to American obscurity and Sexton goes back to the drawing board. Tell me how that fight makes sense?

Sexton seemed terrified about the prospect of a rematch with Martin Rogan. He isn't going to be seen anywhere near a dangerman like Johnson anytime soon.

Johnson's a dick, and can't throw a right hand to save his life, but he'd destroy both Rogan and Sexton on the same night.

He looked a bit more two-fisted in his last fight. Although a lot was coming off the left hook.

I like him, jab, jab, flab.
But you say Wlad is boring when he uses the same tactic?

People find it hard to digest that boxing is a business as much as a sport - hell, all sport is business.

Promoters invest money in guys who can put bums on seats looking for paydirt when they hit the big time.

It's always been the same in boxing, opportunities come to guys who get involved in fascinating and visceral fights.

Tarver has never had much of a following, partly because he's a brash bigmouth with a shitty attitude, and partly because he rarely backs up his prefight bluster with a performance worthy of it.

Rogan has half the talent of many of his peers, but he has twice the desire, and his fights are about ten times as exciting. I'd love to see Rogie beat Sexton and get a European title shot. There's a lot of guys out there who should beat him on paper, but that doesn't mean they'll beat him in the ring - just ask Skelton.

If Johnson has the chin, i'd put him at the top of the american heavyweights.

He may not have the most exciting style, but he looks hard to beat.

I like the way he carrys himself in the ring, looks confident , and in his last fight stayed in the punching distance against his opponent, brought his righthand into play alot more.
Maybe he's listened to those TV guys , and knows he's got to be a bit more exciting.
