PRESS RELEASES - THE GAYEST THINGS EVER
Does anyone else cringe every week when Sports Network or Hennessy do a press release where some fat middle aged man has written out embarrassing nonsense that their fighters have supposedly said?
It gets worse when they are capped off with horrible pun titles like 'I Khan rule amirs world'....
Did anybody read the one when Amir was supposedly taking digs at Jacko using all his old song titles? 'I'm Bad, come June I Wanna Be Starting Something, cos I'm the real Thriller, etc....
If I was one of these boxers supposedly being quoted I'd be on the blower screaming at the promoter 'DON'T ever fookin release anything with my name on it again - EVER!'
Does anyone else feel this way? Or has Overhand drifted into Lone Freak territory once again?

Re: PRESS RELEASES - THE GAYEST THINGS EVER
It depends on the press release. If they've got some news to release then it's fine. If it's just to trash talk then don't bother.
A press release stating that Jamie Moore is going to fight Jimmy Colas on 24th July is good.
A press release stating that John Murray would like the purse that would come as a result of fighting Amir Khan is bad.

I get bored of them. I don't ee the ppoint. Most of u are anorak and know who is fighting who and when they are fighting, what purpoe do these press releases serve. Do they alert us to a fighter we have never heard of? Do they prompt us to get off our lard arses( speaking for moi :) and go to the fight rather than watch it on TV( Not for me)
What is their purpose?
What is their purpose?
Re: PRESS RELEASES - THE GAYEST THINGS EVER
It's only really Hennessy Promotions which do it on here, I have no problem with folk advertising fights but their spam is increasingly tiresome, raises no debate, the poster never contributes and I certainly would not miss it.

Agreed, the recent one about khan is awful.
Re: PRESS RELEASES - THE GAYEST THINGS EVER
Hennessy brings out at least 3 every week all of which are absolute nonsense.

I don't know why, but I often find myself reading them just to see what the promoter wants you to think. If that makes sense.
Shall I get my coat?
Shall I get my coat?

I don't like them by Hennessey because he never really reply's to any thread like "When is Murray fighting next" instead puts these stupid threads out.

I agree - I like to hear what the lastest insulting Sports Network spin is.
That Amir Khan one about Thaxton 'lets be having you' was one of the worst documents of all time.
