Does anyone have any ideas/opinions on who will get the chance to fight for the lonsdale? There are a few guys out there who would think that they are entitled to a shot;
John Murray - Would the BBBofC give him a chance to fight for the title he lost on the scales?
Alex Arthur - Doubt he would be interested in a fight for a domestic strap at this stage in his career.
Jonathan Thaxton - Good fighter but no better than domestic/euro class and was mandated to fight murray. Would imagine he is the most likely to be involved in a match for the title.
Willie Limond - Only 2 defeats to Arthur and Khan. Despite the defeat to Khan, thought he acquitted himself well and has won a few bouts since.
Lee McAllister - Aberdeen Assasin fights for vacant commonwealth strap this friday against a "tough" african. I felt in the fight with murray he was in control in the early rounds and was out boxing murray. I had them level on points when the fight was stopped. He let his ego get into the fight, stopped listening to his corner and as a result threw out the game plan that was giving him sucess. IMO, i think he could beat murray in a rematch.
There are a couple of others that may be looking to be considered for eliminators also like Ryan Brawley and Henry Castle.
Thoughts?
vacant british lightweight title, who will fight for it?

It should be Murray vs Thaxton for the British lightweight title, imo.

You are probably right as that is what was going to happen. Will Murray get the chance though? If not, who would be put forward?Asterix wrote:It should be Murray vs Thaxton for the British lightweight title, imo.

I'd be happy with Arthur, Castle or Limond.

It should be Murray vs Thaxton.
I wouldn't complain too much if it was Arthur vs Thaxton though, but I doubt Arthur would be interested.

Well, Thaxton will definitely be one of the two as Murray's former mandatory. Buckland was down for an eliminator before Lawton got a straight shot, Castle has a good shot, Limond if he gave the WBU up.

If Buckland gets a shot before Castle I'm going on a killing spree.dbflex wrote:Well, Thaxton will definitely be one of the two as Murray's former mandatory. Buckland was down for an eliminator before Lawton got a straight shot, Castle has a good shot, Limond if he gave the WBU up.
Henry is long overdue a shot at the belt.
Thaxton v Muerray should be an eliminator for the Euro.

Think it will probably be Thaxton vs Murray but if not think Thaxton vs Limond might happen as Thaxton is a decent British fighter now and Limond would fancy it im sure i think Murray may move on to the Euro scene
