Jamie Moore v Jimmy Colas 24 July
Don't know if this has already been posted, but Jamie Moore makes his second defence of the EBU title against Frenchman Jimmy Colas on 24 July before hopefully landing a shot against Martinez for the WBC title later in the year.

Durable, never been knocked out, but Jamie will batter him. Not the same level. Just hope he doesnt take his eye of the ball.

At the risk of ending up with egg on my face this could be a mini classic although I struggle to see Colas winning. He comes forward all night and has a very good left hook to the body and he throws a decent uppercut as well. He is very durable but I have the impression he can be hurt as just ocassionally when caught he seems to be troubled.scrap iron wrote:Don't know if this has already been posted, but Jamie Moore makes his second defence of the EBU title against Frenchman Jimmy Colas on 24 July before hopefully landing a shot against Martinez for the WBC title later in the year.
He has a tight enough guard but there are plenty of gaps behind the elbows for Jamie to land body shots, if not quite at will, certainly often enough to make it pay.
Looking forward to this one to be honest, I would prefer as we all would for Jamie to be in with Martinez or suchlike but as voluntary defences go there have been a lot worse than this one.

Then Jamie due to fight Cancoloux in September. See article http://www.frankmaloney.com/News/go_home/1996.html

Nice busy schedule. Moore is great to watch. Fighters with less ability and toughness than him have sat on paper belts. I hope he gets his world title. Isn't Canclaux a risky fight if Moore's close to a world title. I know Moore will fight anyone, but...

Reminds me of Billy Schwer fighting the Italian Casamonica while waiting for his world-title shot, risky but Jamie like Billy is a proper fighter.

Shaggy/J-Mo - if you need to me do my usual. Let me know.
Good luck.

Moore should be too much for Colas, who is a good fighter but just don't think he will cope with the workrate.
I rate Cancluax highly, thats a tricky assignment so close to a world title fight. I think Canclaux is a very worthy challenger should Jamie win the title.

I think keeping him busy is a good thing.

Its good they're keeping him busy this guy isnt in his league should be a comftorbale victory as long as he stays focused
Re: Jamie Moore v Jimmy Colas 24 July
I hope the fact that Jennings and Lockett did so badly in recent titles fights doesn't make American TV ignore or dismiss Jamie Moore. Moore would fare totally differently in world class company than those 2.
Re: Jamie Moore v Jimmy Colas 24 July
Colas failed in a recent challenege for the "EU" version of the title, and has beaten no-one of note since. Boxrec have him as the 4th best-- in France!
Can't see this being anything other than a one-sided victory for Moore.
