A Fighter's Nickname......Good or Bad Idea ?

I remember one American board member on here saying something about Hatton v Mayweather when they were talking about it being in Manchester potentially, and saying how it was unfair because Hatton would be acclimatised to the 'altitude.'

Its a great idea, from a marketing perspective. I would encourage any young fighter to have a nickname and their own entrance music.

My faviorite ever nickname is Kosta "The Thunder from Down Under" Tsyzu some nicknames are stupid but some are affective like Sugar has seemed to stick to fighters also Hitman has really stuck to Hatton but some are stupid like Showtime is a bad nickname imo

I THINK THERE SOMETHING THAT SHOULDNT BE CHOSEN BY THE FIGHTER AND GETS TAGGED TO THEM BY FANS N MEDIA DURING HIS CAREER . AS AN EXAMPLE I HAVE A FIGHTER CALLED EDDIE BROWN FIGHTING ON MY NEXT SEMI PRO SHOW WHO WON HIS ONLY OTHER BOUT IN 10 SECONDS WITH JUST ONE PUNCH IN FEB , SO HES NOW USING THE NICKNAME "ONE BOMB " WHICH IS FINE BUT THEN IVE GOT ANOTHER WHOS NICKNAME IS THE KO KING WHEN HES HAD ONE FIGHT - WHICH HE WON ON POINTS .

One of my favourites is Iron Mike Tyson - it comes off the tongue so easily, and I like Pacman too. Some other one I found good was this fat dude who fought Solis - I think his was "The big, fat, ugly white dork" or something along those lines.

Yeah, it is a good one and it almost feels as if you should say "iron" automatically, because it rolls off the tongue so easily. Prince Naseem Hamed was quite similar, in fact i bet a few yanks thought that he was a prince

lol I remember on the maxboxing boards years ago some american guy saying the only reason Naz was a success was because he was born into royalty so he had everything he needed to become an athlete etc. Wasn't ironic either, he actually thought Naz was a prince.

Brendan has had some real bad one's for fighters over the years and they normally have some kind of Irish theme to them. Wasn't it Brendan who called a boxer "Slugger O'Toole" ?

But just think about how you would go about promoting that product
