it would be a great one. :TU:

Iron Rhino is a walk up type, as is Alex. I have no idea how it would go to be honest. How far has Kirby come since the last time they fought??

But it is a logical HW fight, that would no doubt be fought in a tough, never take a backward step, manner.

Kirby is on a roll and has the strap Leapai beat him for the first time around, that should be enough to entice Leapai back into the ring. The last fight went the distance, it was Kirby's 6th fight and his first sheduled for 12 rounds. That experience can only do him the world of good. We all saw how he handled Briggs in a rematch...

Two exciting heavyweights that both have something to fight for. As you say it is a logical domestic HW fight :TU:

I would probably agree there Colin, I would like to see the fight just not now.

Although they are good fighters, they should both grow a little more as fighters before getting in the ring again with each other, better viewing for all.

I think it's time for Alex to fight for the Australian title, the winner of Hoppa/Mirovic.

heres the top 10 ANBF, Highlighted blue are the people Leapai has conquered, red indicates draw.

HEAVYWEIGHT
No Weight Limit
CHAMPION: John Hopoate NSW

1 Alex Leapai* QLD
2 Michael Kirby* NSW
3 Nathan Briggs QLD
4 Bob Mirovic NSW
5 Colin Wilson QLD
6 Solomon Haumono NSW
7 Pieter Cronje WA
8 Mark De Mori WA
9 Justin Whitehead VIC
10 Kim Heta VIC

There's only Hoppa, Solo and Mirovic left for him to be able to claim he conquered Australia I'm not forgetting De Mori but i think he is international now..

More boxers in Australia should take note.

based on friday night's performance, leapai is going to have to bring a lot more to the plate to beat kirby this time around.
he looked pretty pedestrian against wilson, when he should have jumped all over him a lot sooner.
wilson wasn't doing much, neither was leapai except for the punches that knocked down and the punches that led to the stoppage.
the first kirby leapai fight is on you tube for anyone who wants to watch it......having two points deducted cost kirby dearly in that fight..
like everyone here, i'd love to see a rematch as well....
with the improvement kirby has made, i have him winning and winning well.

misd 669, you don't think that Leapai's performance was due to the fact that Colin has been in pretty good form coming into this fight?

I agree that Kirby and Leapai should fight, but like Colin said, wasn't the most exciting that first fight, they can both have a couple more fights, especially from Kirby's point of veiw get a little less greener then square off, it would be much better from a audience's point of view.

In all honesty Leapai v Wilson 2 wasn't a great fight, but it has sent the message and put all heavyweights on notice.

I'm a believer in deciders it must be the league blood, but I really want to see Kirby V Briggs 3, it's 1-1 and both fights were really entertaining.

Winner takes all.
