Klit v Chag POst Fight Disc Thread

Post by Old bones Ian »

I'm not usually one for the big build up and all the jazz that goes with ring walks, but that one by Klitschko was sh*t hot!

Why dont you watch a stream or are you posting off you phone? wlad knocked down Chag with a sharp right hand in the second. Chag wasnt badly hurt but felt the weight of the shot. 10-8 wlad after an even opener.

Chag hands high and slipping shots but he is not getting off. Just how wlad likes it - nothing coming his way. A couple of sharp klit right hands thud in and chag is backed to the ropes. Looks like klit will break him down for the stoppage..

Rnd 4 - klit keeping it long. Safety first as always. He is effective but he is too cautious. Chag cant close the distance effectively and whilst he slips and blocks alot he cant mount a sustained offence. Another safety first klit defence so far. In rnd 5 now. Klit has swept the first four rounds

Rnd 5 - tentative jabs from klit. He gives up ground too easily. He will never set the pulse racing. Chag is disappointing thus far although much of that is down to wlads difficult style. I wish Haye was in there - he would make klit stand and fight.

Into round 7 more of the same - chag rolling forward behind slips and rolls but missing with just about every thing. Wlad jab, jab, move back occasional moody looking straight right to keep chag honest. Repeat until the whole crowd is asleep. Yawn. Dont know why I was looking forward to this one so much.. Role on the TUF finale later tonight.

This is painful.

Chagaev is so poor and in that last round was virtually begging to be put away.

Wladimir due to him being crap didnt want to committ

Chag retires on his stool after 9. He was caught on the ropes at the end of the round and ate a few sharp but not devastating right hands. That, combined with the cut to his left eye, was enough to convince him to call it at night. A pony ending to a pony fight. Yawn. Wlad is a great sedative. I am off to bed.

Chagaev quit on his stool. Garbage performance. Barely threw at all. He should fight Sam Peter. Terrible stuff.

What a terrible fight......

It's disgusting that a heavyweight champion of the world can win a fight with only two punches in his whole repetoire. All Klitschko throws is the left hand jab, followed by the right hand, nothing else. Even when Chagaev, who was shocking, was in trouble at the end of the last round, Klitschko did'nt vary his punches at all, still just threw that left hand jab, followed by the right hand. I almost switched off after the 5th round and all i can say is that Haye, if he does get to fight Wladimir, will have a very good chance of winning. The quality is absolutely terrible and i'm not going to watch any of his future fights, unless he fights Haye....

couldn't agree more..I did respect Wlad for taking this fight, Chag was well fancied but still he showed how limited he is and how poor the heavy divison is, disapointing night

I'm sort of amazed by the reactions on here. Wlad did what Wlad does and always has. He uses movement, a great jab and pretty thunderous straight right and dominates fights, breaks down opponents and then stops you.
I mean after that do some of you really think that suddenly Haye is a lock? :o
Fair enough but Haye would have gone down way more than once from right hands like that and for me his only chance remains that Hail Mary right hand catching the Ukranian cold early doors. :TU:

One thing is that Klitschko is so predictable, you know what's comimng........

If he varied his punches, he would be a nightmare, but he does'nt at all and that is in Haye's favour. We all know that Haye will go if he gets clocked good and proper, but Klitschko is open to all kinds of shots and all it needs is someone with the variety, speed and power to expose those weaknesses and if anyone can do that in the current heavyweight division, it is David Haye.

I just really think Haye will struggle with that jab. If they ever do fight I see Haye really going for it in the first 3-4 rounds and then its all Wlad. :TU:

Haye had the right idea - get under Wlad's skin to make him abandon the saftey first back foot jabbing.

Chag is defensively very neat - Haye can be wide open. Wlad, for all his faults, has a very powerful, quick and straight right hand. Unless Haye can close the distance, rough the big lad up and avoid the right hand, he will end up just another in the long line of Klitschko victims...

I am sure though that the majority of impartial observers will be cheering Haye on - the world needs a more exciting and more positive fighter as the heavyweight champion of the world.
