Lee McAllister wins Commonwealth Lightweight Title

Post by STRATHMAN »

According to a football site McAllister won the title by knock out in Aberdeen tonight against the Ghanain Sowah. Have not seen this confirmed anywhere else?

He gave Murray a decent fight then stopped listening to his corner.

I went to the show Sowah wasnt up to much ran out of ideas after the 1st round a class below McAllistar the punched that finished it was a beauty a short right hand while Sowah lunged in and he was out on the undercard was Josh Wales who looked impressive against a durable Bulgarian journeyman but the atmosphere when McAllistar came out was amazing and he didnt dissapoint his fans

I like McAllister. He was gracious in defeat to Murray and come across as a nice, humble lad, who speaks a little too much, but means well. He did manage to make Murray look quite silly as well for a few rounds. I will definitely follow his career.

fair play, like Dioufy I liked the look of McAllister against Murray, if he'd have stuck to his gameplan he may have got further, not saying he would have won it but it would have been a possibility. He's now won a credible belt as opposed to the WBU, I'd like to see him verous Limmond next, would be a good all Scots encounter.

So would I he is like a hero when he walks into the ring the atmosphere was amazing so if Gilmour could get Limond down to Aberdeen then the atmosphere would be great but even if they got him McArthur that would be a good fight there are so many options for him to take would most like to see him fight Limond though :TU:

the British lightweights scene has a lot of good matches to be made

however i cant see many of them happening

hope its not like the Light Middles from the a few years back when they all go different routes

most likley gilmours boys will fight each other for commonwealth next after a defence or 2 against an African

Willie limond or Gary McArthur or Alex Arthur , any of these would be a good fight for McAllister and should be a sell out wherever its held .

I think he is, he missed the 135 limit by barely anything, had he been given time to cut the weight, he would have it gone in a jiffy.

Given that the BBC covered this fight a fair amount, I was wondering if it was shown on BBC Scotland, or maybe will be at a later date.
