New Benny Bass Bout?
I found a day-after newspaper account: Bass D-10 Eddie Shea, March 28, 1930 @ St. Louis in second title defense. Any comments? It was reported as Benny defending his title in St. Louis for the second time in two months. However, there is no notation of which fight was the first. So, I put a comment to the Abad bout, which looks like the most-likely candidate.
Colin: Could you double-check the March 4 bout between Bass and Shea @ Milwaukee? This is to avoid a supposed duplicate.

Missouri Bouts
That would mean that bouts in Missouri at this time were not decision bouts, huh Colin? I think I have already entered a bundle of them. I will add Missouri to my list of ND states for the time being until I hear otherwise. (I hate it when the papers don't distinquish between official and ringside decisions.) But, would this be true for a supposed title bout, however? The paper was very clear that this was his second defense within two months at St. Louis.
New Freddie Steele Bout
Freddie Steele's record was locked. I located an April 25, 1930 D-10 Joe Townsend @ Seattle. (I also confirmed their May 8 Tacoma bout together.) I've added the bout and re-locked the record.

Anderson-Bass-Grogan
Are we sure about that, Colin? I have another day-after that records a March 3, 1930 Cowboy Eddie Anderson - Tommy Grogan bout @ Des Moines, Iowa. So, Anderson then had a bout with Bass the next day at Milwaulkee? Doesn't quite sound right. Could happen, though.Colin wrote:The 4 March 1930 bout for Bass was with Eddie Anderson, not Eddie Shea. and is given as a D 10 by the 1981 RRB. Have corrected. Good pick up Ric.

I have re-checked the 1981 RRB record for Bass.
It is - 4 March 1930 Eddie Anderson D 10 Milwaukee
- 28 March 1930 Eddie Shea ND 10 St. Louis
- 10 June 1930 Eddie Anderson KO 3 Milwaukee
There was then fights against Joey Goodman (23 June) and Tony Canzoneri (21 July)before
- 3 Sept 1930 Eddie Anderson ND 10 Des Moines
I have not checked any of these with contemporary reports. I do have the 1941 RRB record for Eddie Anderson BUT it stops at 1929 (or at least my phtocopy does). Looking at what I have got of it, Anderson, not surprisingly, never had fights on consecutive days.
Go with the contemporary reports. Perhaps the date for the first Anderson fight is incorrect, maybe it should be 14 March???
