Heta Vs Karusa
Heta Vs Karusa
Did anyone see this bout?
Im interested in hearing about the fight, I know Karusa was stopped in the 2nd he said he was gassed but was he KO'd?
Also boxrec lists his debut fight weight as 115kgs but that is generous given hes closer to 150kgs!
Karusa had a few corporate bouts before making his debut against Ben Naqasima who hadnt fought for 7 years! So to step in against Heta was a BIG step up for a BIG man

115 kgs is a bit over 18 stone in the old money, which is pretty heavy even for a heavyweight boxer.
Re: Heta Vs Karusa
Given hes 150kg hes a BIG boy

I noticed that. Seems McCrystal & NZNBF had to make it look good.

Re: Heta Vs Karusa
I saw it and he looked 135 kgs minimum potentially up to 150.
He definitely knew how to box, had footwork and evasive skills. For the first 2 minutes.
Then he started puffing and it was target practice.
Fatigue makes cowards of us all.

150 KGs he is a big fella. He is even heavier than me
Re: Heta Vs Karusa
Butterbean went into some of his fights lighter than that.
Re: Heta Vs Karusa
Yea hes a big boy! But he does have some nice skills and moves well bor a bog guy but your right his fitness is shocking but to be expected carrying that weight! He was lucky in his debut that his opponent was even worse conditioning wise!
Re: Heta Vs Karusa
Sorry to repeat myself but that reminds me of the late Merv Williams doing colour commentary many years on a "fight" between two fat boys on TV Ringside who were barely touching each other.
Merv said "These boys would rather have a feed than a fight."

I think its more a case of to keep eating he must keep fighting!!
There must be some kind of record for HEAVIEST EVER person to box?? Theres some big boys around currently I can think of.............
Gabe Brown last fought at 162kgs
Albert Stewart last fought at 155.1kgs
Garing Lane weighed 144.5kgs against Ruslan Chagaev
Joe Lenhart last fought at 145.6kgs
Salvador Farnetti fought Travis Walker at 150.6kgs
and of course the Fattest of them all (or is he?)
Eric "Butterbean" Esch Last fought at 189.4kgs!!!!!

Heaviest I ever heard of officially for an Australian fighter was Les McNabb, who was active during World War II.
For his second fight he was 21 stone 12 pounds, about 139 kilos.
He outweighed his opponent, Henry O'Donnell, by 103 pounds, nearly 47 kilos!
