I know its been said before, but ESPN Classic have been showing some real nostalgic gems. Loved watching Stracey vs Napoles in full as broadcasted by the BBC.

Also been showing fights like Patterson vs Liston recently. These are often repeated, so keep an eye.

I'm gutted I can't get this channel on cable (VirginMedia )

Got some other ESPN one which shows all the baseball and college football, I think. But not the classic with all the boxing :( :(

I remember 1 weekend when they showed Reg Gutteridge & Harry Carpenter best fights for the whole day it was great they put on some really good fights

I sky plussed Ali vs Frazier 1 and watched it after Klitchsko vs Chagaev... there's a difference. My god they were awesome fighters. Ali wasn't small and to move like he did, even when past his absolute prime is just fantastic.

I've got the 'Boxing Classics' series on Channel 5 (in the early hours) on series record, that throws up some beauties as well (Ali-Liston I, Ali-Bonavena, Foreman-Holyfield, SRL-Wilfred Benitez)

It's a great channel, always superb for boxing classics and Premier League, but lately been some great stuff on the Lions and Wimbledon epics....

I think the UK version is rubbish, always the same repeats we've seen a million times.

The US version is brilliant for 80s and 90s repeats of the likes of Pernell, Terry Norris, Bowe and so on. I guess there must be ownership issues over the British rights (or the suits just don't think we'd be interested) MEMO IN CASE ESPN SUITS ARE READING - WE ARE VERY INTERESTED!

What I prefer with the UK version is that it keeps its authenticity. I think Brian Kenny is a great presenter, and Randolph Sugar makes me laugh - but I like it when they show the BBC fights pretty much as the BBC showed it fully back in the day.

Its amazing to think just how many TV execs and presenters who continue to call Ali Cassius Clay, long after his name change. You don't get that feeling with the Ringside shows.
