We have all had time to scrutinize his latest performance.


Amir Khan is undoubtedly a brilliant practitioner of the art. In every fight he has improved as the fight has wore on.
The sceptical will say he is a slow starter etc….

I would say he is a very clever boxer who can solve the puzzle that his opponent gives him in the style of offence or defence.
There are many, many participants in the sport, almost twice his age who could not solve the puzzle so efficiently. Or so fast.

These are 2 minute rounds, hectic and frantic

In his fight yesterday I was very impressed once again.
Sure there were worrying moments in the early two rounds, but once again he overcome them in style.

I still think he needs the extra year or so in the vest.
Once or twice his inexperience shone through, his immense talent can cover it.

The boy is 17 years old.
He is going for gold on Sunday.
Did Audley Harrison provoke this much interest in the sport 4 years ago when he went for gold?

Was the minister for sport there when he fought in the semi-finals?

Amir Khan is the future of boxing. But more importantly he is making sure the sport has a future.

whats sceptical about stating a fact?

go and read some of the plethora of interviews with khan. he admits himself he can take his time to find his rythym.

check the scores at the end of the rounds. he's had four fights so far. at the end of the first round he's been trailing in 2 of them and only a point ahead in one of them. and at one point yesterday he was five points behind in the first round.

now thats not to take anything away from what the boys achieved so far. hes has done amazingly well especially considering his age. and we can all be rightfully proud of him

its not sceptisism, its merely an observation many people have made, khan and his trainer included, and its one that we all hope he can over come in the final against Kindalin.

I also liked something a commentator was saying this morning on BBC radio, about Khan single handedly shutting up the BNP in the North-West, all the pictures broadcast around the UK of packed out pubs full of beer-bellied, football top wearing, skinheads cheering for Khan can only do some good towards racial tensions in that area and indeed in the country.

Khan has the potential to become more than just a famous boxer....

the paper coverage this morning is amazing it wasn't like this when benn and eubank were fighting each other. amir khan has taken over the frigging country.

Yeah your right it is Khan mania...as for a nickname, the Daily Sport seem to have just made one up..."The Golden Boy" i don't know if it has any substance?
