I Dont know why im telling you all this but i guess i needed to get it out.
On Sunday i did some over time in work (building) and a pane of glass fell and smashed and a piece of the glass hit me in the back of the hand and severed the tendon to my little finger, the tendon was completly cut.
So i had to have surgery on monday morning to repair the tendon, the Surgen said that tendons are like elastic and when they are cut they retract. I havn't seen it yet because my arm is in plaster but they had to make an incision from the knuckle of my little finger to half way up my forearm, just to retrieve the tendon. Now i have to go for Physiotherapy once a week when my arm is out of plaster.
I'm going to be out of boxing for at least 3 months, looks like my hopes of going pro in june are out of the window. I'm extremly gutted and will be hitting my work for a massive claim.
Has this ever happend to any boxers, and did it fornicate up thier career?
I'd rather know the truth

Actualy this exact same thing happened to Pete Latzo who is the only "real" champion for my hometown of Scranton PA. He beat Mickey Walker for the Welterweight title in 26 I think. Check out his record it has a little foot note about it under one of his fights. I think it happened while he was champion if I'm not mistaken. Def. check his record out he's the Best fighter ever from around my way.
Tendons if treated can heal pretty quickly.
Best of luck.
I tore tendons on both of my knees, they took a while. My left knee went during a bout.
Was in the final round and was winning out of site but had to hold and practically waltz with this dude until the final bell. Still won by decision
UK National Health Consultant wouldn't operate as he was strong supporter of Ban Boxing Bill.
Couldn't get op until i retired.
Because of wait I now have arthritis in my knee.
But get the op the tendons will knit together fine.
Don't sit on your arse doing nothing though. Keep up the road work and stamina training just don't use the hand.
You should be back in action soon.

Thanx for the support gordon,
the accident happened in August and i hap the op 3 days after it happened i was in plaster for 8 weeks in total...
but now...
i started back full time training late november the 27th to be exact and ive got my first bout after my op on the 21st February...
Because i couldn't use my right hand i was only training with my left before the plaster came off and my hand was healed... so my jab has been perfected, also i worked on my left body shots which i rarely used before and now thats one of my most powerfull shots...
Thanx again to all those who posted thier support in this thread, im very gratefull.
