Australian boxing's most exciting development in 25 years hit's our screen's on the 9th July and it's Billy 'The Kid' to feature on opening night!
Facing the 'Machinegun' Kenichi Yamaguichi from the proud fighting nation of Japan, the world-rated contender Billy 'The Kid' Dib squares off for the interim WBO Asia-Pacific Featherweight title and a future position to challenge for a world-title.
Empire Promotions brings 'SuperBoxer' to Australia, and most importantly, 'free-to-air' television through Network 10's - '1HD' 24hr sport channel in what is an overdue return of 'The Sweet Science' to the mainstream public.
Speaking at the 'SuperBoxer' launch, Dib commented;
“This is without doubt the biggest development in Australian boxing in my short time within the sport. As Mr Lewis (Johnny Lewis, legendary trainer and 'guest' SuperBoxer commentator) said today, this is the biggest thing in boxing for him in the last two decades so that speaks volumes.”
“I’ve been very fortunate to have fought in both the US and UK and I can honestly say, the excitement and build-up for me of performing in front of family and friends in Australia, and televised through ‘free-to-air’ on 1HD is right up there with some of my fights overseas.”
“I’m absolutely buzzing!”
