what has the hardest fight for khan been?

Post by Adamj1987 »

ive recently bought the amir khan dvd for a 5r and was watching thought his featured fights many id seen before.
and whislt watching them many of the oppenents were supposed to challenge khan but got dominated all bar 1 - willie limond
he gave khan everything and the rounds where close. is there cuase for a rematch thought i know it wont happen due to khans ranking.

im saying this because the prescott fight wasnt hard it was a silly mistake and wasnt a prolonged beating

anyone else agree or not?

I think the Gomez fight has been the toughest. The one with Limond was a struggle, but not tough in the way the Gomez fight was (where Khan was often hurt and Gomez kept pressuring).

yea Limond fight was a tough one for him
to get chinned like that and some say " he was given a long count"
(i defo think he was given the home fighter advantages of Ref holding him steady and delaying the restart of the action)

to get back up of the floor and take it to limond in next round showed heart and determination

he looked like hed been in a fight after the finish as appposed to all his other straighforward wins

Brescott oviously knocked him into next year with those blows though

Limond definetly deserved a rematch he had Khan hurt but so did Gomez and i believe he deserved a rematch if anyone gives Khan problems who is ranked lower than him FW will be clever enough to stay well away from them like Limond, Prescott he knew Thaxton and Murray would cause him problems so he stayed away from them FW is clever

I think Khan has been sensibly matched to date (bar Prescott) and it must be said, that if he was with another promoter he might have got beaten up a bit more than he has done to date.

He's fought enough past-it's and tomato cans now - he needs to fight legit opponents and Kotelnik is a decent step in the right direction.

khan is the most underated boxer out there. considering he got our country a silver medal you would think he would get a bit more respect. i think the bottom line is its because hes asian.

He isnt that cocky compared to other boxers and he delivers. And he improves drastically between every fight, i cant see what people dont like about him. His skill, speed and power is amazing.

People go on about murray as if he's hard done by and should be where khan is, murray would last 5 rounds if he was lucky against khan, thats the long and short of it.

That's possible, but why isn't it happening? It's certainly not the fault of Murray and Team Hennessy. It was the same with Thaxton. It would be what the fans want, instead of fighting smaller men. He will get spanked again though.

Amir khan is a worldwide name, murray isnt, whats khan got to gain out of fight with murray. i dont see it being any different to when he was fighting the ten other common wealth / european contenders and belt holders. Theres no way in the world a khan v murray fight would get a ppv contract.

But Khan vs Fagan and Khan vs Prescott (who no one, including me had heard of prior to the fight) are more worthy than a legitimate battle of Britain for both the British and Commonwealth straps? If you think yes, then you're a loony pie.

prescott is world class and to be fair noone wants to fight him for the same reason khan shouldnt have, the only reason he isnt bigger is because noone wants to pay £14.95 to see someone get knocked out in 3 rounds, the same reason tyson stopped becoming marketable.

Who outside the uk wants to watch another khan v fagan fight?

EVERYONE loved khan during the olympics, including ME. the public loved him because he was a fresh faced wide eyed kid with no apparent airs and graces, but who also happened to be a very good amateur. Combined with the multicultural britain aspect, the whole package captured people's imagination.

Now, even Joe Public has got wind of the cynical Warren machine in action. Khan has made more and more money fighting shitty opponents, and his attitude has got worse and worse. His driving offences, his brutal loss, his failure to translate his amateur dominance into the pro ranks, it all adds up to a package very different from the amateur days. Every casual sports fan knows that Khan is about to be knocked into next week, and many are welcoming that day.

Thats the crap im on about. how old is he? what did you expect to happen, him to go from amature to world champion, battle hardened and experienced fighter in one fight. If he wasnt with warren he would be another murray.

Murray is a very credible opponent - it's a shame the same couldn't be said for Prescott* (who isn't world-class, as he didn't wobble the super featherweight he fought last), and Fagan. Khan was 20/1 on to beat Prescott.

If you thought Khan was in against a world-class puncher before they met then show me your betting slip. Almost no one on here had heard on Prescott before the fight was made. If that was credible for Box Office then so is a Murray fight.

* before the Prescott fight was made.

You're right, he's changed a hell of a lot. He started out as quite humble, willing to learn his trade and respectful of his opponents. Now he's an arrogant fcukwit creeping round the scene trying to pick off easy opponents and caliming to be world class and getting better.

It was the interview after the Gomez fight that did it for me. Gomez had just given him the fight of his life, and put him down. Khan comes out with all this 'it was easy, once I got out of first gear' bollocks.

Your talkin Bollocks....the one thing you can't claim Khan is as a Boxer and thats Boring so why would watching his DVD be a waste of time or a pile of shite?

All this Anti-Khan Vibe should be more Aimed at Warren, not Khan who i'm sure would have gladly fought Murray, thaxton and the rest.

Anyway Khan seem's a nice guy who always makes time for his Fans and any Charity Work. He was thrust into the Limelight at 17 and has done a pretty good job of dealing with it all.

I like Khan as a person, exciting as a fighter, sure he has his flaws but he's got tons of heart when he's in there. As for his hardest fight I'd have to say the Limond fight was his toughest.

He has'nt had a toughest fight........as yet.

Kotelnik will be the toughest fight that he will have had so far in his career and before that, you could say that it was Gairy St.Clair, who took Khan the full distance. The Prescott fight was'nt his toughest, because it never got started and i'm sure if they fought again, it would be a more drawn out affair.

Prescott hasn't fought anyone who is World class, so I don't know how you can say he's up there. He couldn't even dispatch tiny Toledo who has been knocked out by all the decent boxers he has faced.
