perhaps thats a bit harsh as there are always going to be vagaries with the postal service. i think the whole point of this thread is that people are willing to accept that the odd issue may be late but not the terrible service we're putting up with just now.

almost every week we read stories in the BN where this website is mentioned, so its obvious that folks at BN look at this site. One would presume that they check out the forum also. Surely its not beyond one of the staff, ideally Calude Abrams perhaps, to let us know what the story is. Not a crappy little ' we are looking at this problem' but a decent response.

Im not sure what the present circulation figures are for BN but I wouldnt imagine they can afford to be losing subscribers over an issue such as this.

Well something is going to have to change, what I do not know, but I really feel that this could lose them a lot of money. If I hadn't stumbled across all these complaints, £80 of my money would have been handed over by now. Lucky for me I have heard this and thought twice about doing it. I hope it doesn't get to the stage where there are loads of people cancelling subscriptions, the situation will get even worse. It's frustrating I suppose because you just don't know who to point the finger at in this situation.

Its very simple who to point the finger at. Boxing News advertise a service. They cant provide that service at a reasonable level. If they have problems with deliverys change the service they use. dont blame it on anyone else. Simple. For that reason my subscription is going bye byes

I seem to recall about 5 years ago when BN changed from it's former Magazine style format to it's current Newspaper style, Claude mentioned in his Editors page the subject of late deliverys.

If I remember right, Claude said that he wasn't too happy about the new format (A feeling I share) but it was due to new 'Management'. He stated that some of the recent delivery problems were due to their former printers, but now they are under new ownership, this problem should be sorted.

I also remember Claude saying that late deliverys were also very annoying for the staff who work very hard to meet their deadline (Wednesday?). He went on to say that although late deliverys were not down to the BN staff directly as the Editor he excepted that the buck stopped with him.

Like I said this was about 5 years ago and I appologise to Claude if I have miss-quoted him.

The delivery times over the last year or so is a bit better than it was around that time and I always get my BN on a Friday but usually the Saturday which is annoying, this may be worsened when SKY show the big fights on a Friday, time will tell.

Delivery times have gone through various levels of reliablity IMO for the 16 odd years I have been buying it. My biggest problem this month has been trying, as a subsciber trying to convince them by phone, e-mail and post that I have changed address, fingers crossed for Friday!!

The BN content is still the best in the Worlth though.

I've had the odd issue go awry which is infuriating, but if I have, I just ring the subscription line and they normally send a copy the next day. I know that's a pain when it means it comes in after the fights take place but it's better than nowt.

Plus, when you ask your local newsagent to get a copy on a Friday, you'll find that during the year you'll miss more copies than if you had it delivered.

Don't think BN is any different from any other subscription weeklies. They invariably can and do get lost in the post.

NOT the postal service's fault entirely, the last 2 fridays I have gone to the newsagent near my work in central london and BN has been late. I do believe the magazines are distributed from london so there is obviously some sort of problem with distribution.
