Boxing on Bravo

I watched the boxing on Bravo last night, Benn v Eubank1 and Tyson V Williams.

The Benn fight, I have on vhs, and admittedly I have not watched it for a while, but the one they showed on Bravo was captured from different angles and had different commentary.
And what a difference it made.
I guess this is how somebody sat either side of a ring can have a different opinion on how a fight went.

And with hindsight I kept an eye on Tyson in the fight with Danny.
Sure enough he does grab the knee in the first, and its there on the tape to see that when he hit Danny in the early part of the round he literally lifted him off the canvas.

After he grabbed the knee his punches did seem to loose their power, if this is down to his knee or that he just tired and did not have the same strength left in him, only Tyson himself would be able to answer this truthfully.
I do think he injured his knee, and I think it did make a difference to the outcome of the fight.
When I say this I do not necessarily mean Tyson would have beaten Danny, I just think it could well have had a different ending.

Fri-Sat-Sundays I think.
I caught both Benn-Eubank fights and the Tyson-Williams, complete fights and a bit of interview with Danny and Jim on the fight.

Yep, I watched the entire re-run of Benn v Eubank II.

At the time I remember having Benn a clear winner but on the re-run I had Eubank winning by a bloody mile.

I dont think Benn did more than share the third round out of the first six. Eubank was counter-punching beautifully, hitting hard and Benn missed with most....

I had Eubank a clear winner in the fight. Watt was trying to say Eubank's timing was off but he appeared to land plenty as far as I could see.

It is quite obvious that Tyson hurt his knee in the fight. You can clearly see him complaining about it. I am not sure how much it took out of Tyson's punches, but it must have somewhat unsettled him psychologically. Watching it again was another reminder at how terrible that referee handled the fight.

its one of those fights where u score what u prefer. i've often argued this that for me eubank counter punched well and did enuff to win. others might have preferred benn's pressure.

very close fight i don't think a draw was at all out of the question.

i'm not sure how bad he hurt his knee. He was in some paoin for a brief moment, but then after he didn't seem to be limping, and he was throwing punches from each hand with the same vicious intent. I dont think it made much difference, but it's something for the Tyson fans to use as an excuse and still have hope that he can somehow reign again.

Yes, very close fight - I thought Eubank won it, most disagree. One thing that concerned me was the scoring of the contest (shown on the excellent, "Eubank vs Benn: You Decide" on ITV a few days after the contest). Two of the judges scored the 12th to Benn, I thought it was a clear Eubank round - as did Watt and McGuigan. Of course it was the judges who were scoring the fight a draw and for Eubank by 1 at the time aswell.

As I wrote earlier, and those who watched the fight on bravo may agree, if you watched the ITV showing(the original screened), and watched the Bravo showing there was a different winner in each, even the first fight I had Benn winning up until the end, but in the Bravo showing I had Eubank winning easily.

And back to Tyson, yes I am a fan so maybe I am seeing more than is really there,

but I thought he kept his leg bent after he complained about it.
I too tore ligaments in my knee and can speak from experience when I say that it hurts a lot more to try and straighten the leg. Punching with power relies heavily on the legs.
