sky wont be showing the nelson fight live due to dates probably. it looks like another boring fight due to nelson and may are mates and have sparred many round.
so that leaves the question, why is nelson fighting his sparring partner?

I am a bit peeved, Nelson (for all his critics) is one of the few fighters we have that is universally recognised in the worlds top ten. Why should be not allowed to see him.
It is apparently clashing with International football and Austrailia vs Pakistan in Cricket. Okay, the Footie is important, but surely be deemed more important than the Cricket.
There shouldn't be a scheduling problem when you have a 24 hour sport channel and the champion fights for that channel. They should have moved the fight as they do in America.

Agreed, Johnny is popular in Germany. It could certainly be a stinker but we should still get a chance to see it based on what Stu rightly says. But I have said before that I feel too many people want the crash, bang, wallop these days. I don't mind watching Johnny and you have to say he is very good at what he does.steve689 wrote:And winning a points decision? Someone told me yesterday it is on ARD channel so some of you might be able to see it if you have one of those big dishes.

Nelson is absolutely NOT popular the same as May, who is IMO the worst german boxer of all times. German TV never showed a fight of Nelson. only Eurosport showed some fights. May has no balls and will lose vs. any tough grandma.Ian 'Mr' McNeilly wrote:Agreed, Johnny is popular in Germany. I think ZDF showed highlights of Nelsons fight vs petkovic. (Anyone seen May vs Petkovic, both really boring fighters but the fight they had was really good and exciting)BubiScholz wrote:Ian 'Mr' McNeilly wrote:Agreed, Johnny is popular in Germany. The Nelson fight will be shown another night on sky obviously there is big interest in the NELSON V MAC fight,it would be unwise not to show it.
Nelson is big in Germany and the crowd love to see a genuine world champion fight in their country. His viewing figures were about 6-7 million last time he fought there .ARD is the German BBC so expect big viewing figures again.
