You're right that is an interesting article. I heard from a friend of mine who used to work with Setanta that the two top men (O'Rourke and the other fella) were immensly popular and that the office employees almost shared their vision, which explains the feeling of regret rather than bitterness.
Some other notable points, particularly Setanta claiming that another 72 hours grace from the Premier League on the 10 mil payment would have secured the millionaire backing they needed, but the Premier refused to budge Whether this is the case or not I suppose we'll never know.
And finally...a bit of hope for the future I think in the fact that the ESPN backers are worth double that of Murdoch so not much chance of them dropping off under the huge weight of a rivalry with SKY. I wonder if ESPN will take up most of what Setanta offered and keep on a bulk of employees?

The Premier League stance doesn't surprise me one bit. One of the most loathsome individuals in sport, sorry, commerce, is Richard Scudamore. He doesn't seem to give a f*ck about anything but money.
