our great national champ just quit on national tv. no ref to save him. no ref to hold his hand. no ref to let him rest, no ref to help him points wise. if this was the amateurs victor ortiz would have won and dc boxing throws him a parade. no slight to you guys..... whatever..... in the amateurs victor ortiz gets saved. but in the pros, no headgear, and you take those punches, and he showed his manhood on tv. he can dish it but cant take it. once he seen he couldnt ko this boy, he filled out his k-mart job application between rounds. there may be more victor ortiz's coming out. get saved in the amateurs, get beat down in the pros. the way to beat a champ is to beat him down. by the way, how is abraham han doing? he was impressive leading up to the trials. anybody can hit, but when you get hit, can you take it? al simpson, no disrespect, we all know you fair but firm. i just addressed a old rumor. but like i said, anybody can hit, its when you get hit. get the sheboygan press on it. do we have sheboygan fighters who are tops, all-time? not in sheboygan. didnt think so.

don't really understand some of your points. ortiz lost and decided he didn't want to keep taking punishment to the point where he felt he was getting ready to take some long-term damage. I guess you would have liked to see him see how many more shots he could take before he ended up going to ER. To each his own. For a boxer that has the experiences that Ortiz has in the sport, I gotta trust his judgement. I wasn't taking those shots, he was. Getting this far in boxing, I don't question his "manhood", but just see that he fought a fighter who was better on the given night. Period.

Jordan has received coverage from other media outlets, but I like it when the Sheboygan Press recognizes him. He still has family and friends that live in the area and like to read about him. Sometimes some of the better stories are written by smaller newspapers. Jordan has received great coverage from the Grand Rapids Press and our smaller weekly newspaper, the Advance Newpapers. He gets coverage in on-line media sources, radio and TV. I appreciate all of them. None are too big nor too small.

Jordan Shimmell is going to be on Grand Rapids' Wood TV-8 (NBC affiliate). They are showing an interview of Jordan during their weekly sports program called Sports Overtime which airs at 11:30 p.m.

Thanks. Team USA leaves on July 4th for Italy. I don't know about the rest of the team, but Jordan has been working out harder than ever. He trains in the morning at 7:30 am for 1.5 to 2 hours, then runs and lifts weights during the day. In the evening, he trains again for another 1.5 - 2 hours. I thought he was in good shape in Denver, but now his conditioning is even better.
