want a laugh?? read this KHAN, HARRISON TOPIC

Post by bigped »

Read this in another site was a lot of posts but here are the first few:

We''re all getting excited about this Amir Khan guy but will he go on to be as successful as a professional as Britain''s previous Olympic boxing finallist, Audley Harrison. Our Audley is still unbeaten as a pro and he is also the Heavyweight champion of the world. It''s asking a lot of Khan to have a similar amount of success in the ring so let''s hope that the media don''t go over the top about him, regardless of today''s result. Let''s hope that Khan doesn''t suffer from the build them up and knock them down syndrome that has been inflicted on so many British sportstars in the past.

The only way Khan could possibly follow in the footsteps of King Audley, is to break him in easily into the Pro game, I thought some of Audley''s early opponents were far too stiff a test, and this undermined his confidence and meant it took longer than necessary to achieve his ultimate goal, but presumeably lessons have been learned.

Fair enough lucy but Audley won those early fights and he learnt a lot from the experience. It certainly didn''t hinder his ambitions as he is now world champion. Let''s hope we can say the same about Khan in four years time.

What a joke,, are these people being serious.....hope not

bigped - lucylucy's post is not as daft as it sounds...for the layman that is. Until Danny's big win and then Amir, Audley was probably the best known active British boxer, due to his exposure on terrestrial TV.

And they announce him as a heavyweight champion of the world.

You can't blame non-followers for coming up with this nonsense as they believe what they are told.

I would say that Khan can be as successful as Harrisson and also become heavyweight champion of the world, I think the IBAWBFFC belt is available.

You are right...but we should listen to MORE of it, to be honest. It should remind us of the awful way our sport is portrayed in the media and of the destructive confusion caused by the alphabet boys.

That's true enough Ian, for none watchers of the sport Audley could easily come across as a "World Champion" even though he holds a KFC belt. People are not to know any different.

Be as successful yes but not heavyweight since Khan is a lightweight.

I think he was saying anyone can claim a heavyweight world title (no matter what you weight) as there are so many belts available.
