Interesting article - at first when I saw the title of the thread - i thought there maybe a catch and there was - those that are pro now are not eligible. The other interesting part of the article is getting a promoter to agree that a fighter he has just signed can box in a tournament as well as the Olympics that will not benefit him (the promoter) at all.

Nonetheless its a very interesting move in my opinion.

Sounds an interesting scheme, but they will need to work on it a bit I think for it to become viable.

The average arm chair fan hadn't heard of Olympians before September 08. Now they do. A pro fighter then going to the Olympics and winning a medal increases his public awareness, thus generating more ticket sales in the future.

I think its fecking stupid personally, I cannot make head nor tail of what the articles on about anyway :confused:
