Stewart to face Vanzie September 10th

Post by adamiw »

secondsout:

London based Scot Dave Stewart takes a big step up in class at the Wembley Arena on September 10 when he faces former British lightweight champion Bobby Vanzie in a non title eight rounder.

Stewart, who is 13-0-(4), was to have challenged Bermondsey's Peter McDonagh for the Southern Area lightweight title on the same Fight Academy promoted card but the 26 year old champion pulled out through injury five days ago. So far Stewart, who celebrates his 29th birthday on September 5, has not fought outside of six round class but a win over the awkward Bradford southpaw will almost certainly elevate him up the rankings towards the British title.

Headlining the 10 fight Wembley card is the eagerly awaited IBO cruiserweight title clash between veteran champion Carl Thompson and undefeated prospect David Haye.

Adam, don't do that again I thought Vanzie was lined up as No Joke Stewart's warm up fight!

Can't see Vanzie having too much problems here, he know to much for Stewart. Good to see the Viper back, he needs to keep busy.

it's a huge step up for Stewart. He's undefeated so will come to win and not surrender that record..so Vanzie will get a good workout at least. Vanzie doesn't always perform at his best when he steps down a level in opposition so perhaps Stewart can give him one or two problems...but i fully expect him to be outclassed. Nice undercard fight though.

Can Bobby fight?. Thought he was due before the board soon?

Has the board sanctioned this one?

i hope he does alright, I like Vanzie Id have spat my dummy out as well if I had got turned over like that.

was a clear win on my cards for the viper, as I remember that was the night of Sturm / Oscar, two robberies on the same night, bad evening for boxing that was.

Vanzie beat Earl in both fights, no question.
