You r the fvcking dick. Some of you guys are far too sensitive, I was only larking about.liamlion wrote:Yiddo14 is a dick. My only issue with John Duddy was that he is a mediocre(at best)Boxer who was getting overhyped by a few fanboys.
Re: 6 Irish fighters through to the EU finals, but Buncy....
Watch it again. I do mention about 5 Irish fighters.
But consider this...
Big Dazz called me with the Welsh news.
Big Ron called me with the English news.
A big Nobody called me with Irish news.
The guy that started this thread needed to send me the 'Irish' semi-finalists before the show.
Send me details next time, don't come on here and tell me that I'm biased in any way.
I've just had another look and the opening thread is total cobblers. I was talking about the semi-finals and therefore, if I'm not mistaken, it would have been difficult at 2pm on Thursday to talk about Luke Campbell losing at 5pm on Thursday. I rest my case, m'lud.
Adios.

In fairness to sligobhoy, I guess he assumed that being the great boxing pundit that you are, you would have already had this info before the show. Couldn't Big Buncey have got this info himself?!Buncey wrote:Watch it again. I do mention about 5 Irish fighters.

I thought I would let you know that all 9 Irish boxers who entered the competition won medals, 3 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze (just in case you hadn't got a call!), so could you please mention that on the next show?
Re: 6 Irish fighters through to the EU finals, but Buncy....
You need to read my reply again. It's not a case of info..it's a case of having a fecking crystal ball because the finals happened after I was on air!

That's fair enough, it would be nice though if you could mention on the next show, the 9 medals won by the Irish squad and also that they was named as Team of the Championships.Buncey wrote:You need to read my reply again. Ireland - 3 golds.
England - 3 golds.
Hopefully Buncey will have one from each team on the show and not just two English guys.

Request for one Irish gold and one English gold winner went in at 11am today!
I show no bias when it comes to English, Scottish, Irish and Welsh - none. But, don't get me started on those lazy, gutless American heavyweights!!!

Good man Buncy. If it was purely a case of the PRO of the IABA not contacting you with the information then fair enough. However, I have always found them proactive.Buncey wrote:Request for one Irish gold and one English gold winner went in at 11am today!

Steve, I love reading you articles about your trips around the am clubs. However, I disagree with the statement that its especially fighters from the north that are excelling.steve689 wrote:Especially in the North. If you look at the finalists there wasnt one from Northern Ireland.

I wasnt all that impressed with Campbell and he was lucky to win gold in Liverpool and almost lost in the last few seconds.Tommy Gunn13 wrote:Awesome result for Nevin...Londonirish wrote:moorser wrote:he also failed to mention john-joe nevin beat campbell 13-2

What a Result, if it was the other way Round i think Buncy might of mentioned it :)
wait for campbells excuses, wasnt training hard it was only a minor tournament etc...
Irelands amatuers are doing well at the min, they have always had a couple of good-uns every olympics since ive been follwing the sport 2012 could be a good year for them....is billy walsh still involved???
The Euros last year were much weaker than even the EU's this year. I look forward worlds in Milan in September - should be good to see how the Irish, English, Welsh (and Scottish - even though they have been extremely quiet for years) against the best in the world.

Plenty were hyping him, especially the guy who claimed to be part of his management on here.sligobhoy67 wrote:

Then a few started saying the Brits want to claims him as usual because he is good etc. Anti-British? Probably, but then if it comes the other fvcking way it doesn't matter does it? Thats what double standards are all about I guess. My bad.

No one was hyping Duddy, people were very realistic about him actually. He was/is very popular, more popular than other more talented fighters - and that attracted his haters. Haters stating that he is over hyped - yet when you ask them who was hyping him and what did they say to hype him they go missing! like you!
As for the "is Duddy British or Irish thing" - you say its an "Anti-British" issue! bollix! it was more of an Anti-Irish issue. Until you are totally ignorant of citizenship law in UK then you will know that the nationality of those from the North of Ireland is treated differently to the rest of the UK. Those from the north are legally entitled to be considered Irish or British. Irish people of here we simply asking for that to be regonised - it was hardly much to ask!
*steps down off soapbox*
Re: 6 Irish fighters through to the EU finals, but Buncy....
Possibly due to the fact that not many of the kids in the North can travel South twice a week for the High Performance team sesions, also they recieve little or no funding to cover these costs ? Ask Alana Audley, she couldn't pay the train fare twice a week and was late twice and thorwn off the team ? Is it her fault that the train doesnt run (due to many reasons)) and the bus is much slower ? They have asked for mixed training sessions between Belfast and dublin but they wont agree to it. Maybe the IABA need to re-address their training program and schedules.sligobhoy67 wrote:Steve, I love reading you articles about your trips around the am clubs.
