Danny as you have spoke to him, realistically what kind of shape is he in, presumably he has had to drop some weight rather quickly as I am not aware of anything lined up for him to have put him near his fighting weight.

I really like Colin and hope he can bring the belt back but would feel more confident knowing what kind of shape he is in or was it simply to good a pay day to turn down at this stage of his career.

Any news you have is a bonus really.

Danny as you have spoke to him, realistically what kind of shape is he in, presumably he has had to drop some weight rather quickly as I am not aware of anything lined up for him to have put him near his fighting weight.

I really like Colin and hope he can bring the belt back but would feel more confident knowing what kind of shape he is in or was it simply to good a pay day to turn down at this stage of his career.

He expected to be out on Matchroom's July 17 Middlesbrough bill or Fwank's bill the following night (as his stablemate Lomax is on there) so was training hard and sparring Lomax and Kevin Mitchell (who has his own 10-rounder on the aforementioned show). I don't think Lynes ever gets far above the weight anyway, lives the life etc. i think he had to take the chance as it's a no-lose situation. A loss to a former world champ on away turf at short notice would not be shameful and he'd still be a player domestically, whereas a win allows him to leapfrog McCloskey who has beaten him.

M'Baye will struggle to get passed the jab but Colin has to do it for 12 rounds and there must be a few questions as to doing 12 at a pace as presumably he was in for an 8 rounder on an undercard as you say.

Still M'Baye is not the busiest type but home advantage is a killer in Europe and Lynes probably has to win by 8-4 to get the belt.

It was part of the deal for his stablemate Lomax to face Brook on the bill. Lynes would get a warm-up fight on the warren bill. It was just a possibility.

Fair enough then! But thats quite rare, especially as Worren has more than enough fighters under his own banner who could use the "warm up" fights on the undercard.
