Jesse Fergusson was good at this...

He did it against Bobby Harris who was 18-0.
I guess Samson P'ouha who was 19-2.

Ray Anis (12-0) vs William Morris (11-10)

Ill think of more later..

i posted this after rewatchin the coetzee-spinks fight and was thinking how early his carrier peaked and how different it would have been if he had never fought ali at such an early stage in his carrier

I wouldn't say 'ruined', but John Collins was never the same after he got bashed up by Tony Sibson.

Bojado by Jessie James Leija.

Nick Acavedo by Vince Phillips.

EDIT: Nevermind, didn't see the "10 fights or under" qualification.

Good call on this Collins.
I remember that whole episode well.
John was really taking too big of a step up in that fight.
Tony was a helluva good fighter.John hadnt faced anyone near the caliber of fighter that Sibson had fought.
Tony had just fought Hagler I believe.

Pete Rademacher, although Patterson doesn't really count as a veteran, but Rademacher was also thrown in with the 44-fight Zora Folley in his second pro outing.

Was no padding of the old record on Rademacher's part.

Sibbo was a moody fighter. He was fighting for his career against Collins (after his appalling showing against Hagler) and it put him in the right mood, a mood in which he could be absolutely dynamic. Kevin Finnegan described his left jab as like being hit with a concrete pole and Collins also got a taste of it. Sibbo won a lot of fights he was supposed to lose and vice versa.
Coincidentally, if it is on youtube, you have to check the five gut-wrenching rounds when Sibbo, a massive underdog, stood up to Frankie "The Animal" Lucas and eventually smashed him. It was Sibbo's 21st birthday. It was quite a night, quite a fight.

Your right Bennie.
I could never figure out Tonys loss to Don Lee.
I didnt see that fight , but on paper it seemed very winnable for Sibson.

A month after the Lee loss and Sibson defended his European title on points in France against Louis Acaries.

I put Sibson vs Lee and Sibson vs Collins on Youtube a while back when I had time for that sort of thing.

That's true in hindsight. But he was a significant favorite in the fight. Nobody thought Moore was going to blow him out.

I thought Benitez broke his ankle when he was knocked down?

I seem to recall he got back up and tried to fight on but couldn't put any weight on it and the ref waved it off. A bit like when Rene Jaquot lost to John Mugabi.

The words "destroy" and 'blow out" just don't seem to conjure up the fight I saw.

I haven't seen it since it was live, but I recall Moore battering him. He did hurt his ankle, but I didn't think the outcome was in doubt when it happened. Perhaps it's on You tube.

Edit: Not on YouTube. I thought he dropped him in the 1st as well. But it isn't one of my more vivd fight memories. I could be way off.

I too haven't seen it for years and am going from memory.

I have it on tape and will dig it out and post on youtube. I am away from home for a couple of weeks but I might call in a favour from a mate and ask him to put it up. I am interested in seeing it again now.

LOL, me too. As a big Wilfred fan, I pretty much blacked everything out after Hearns.
