Great rounds.

You have Lee/Locicero round 5? That might be the best I've ever seen.

Round 1 of Hearns-Duran - I just love the accuracy and near
perfection of Hearns

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3fZ_bSAy8Y

Round 10 of Holyfield vs Bowe 1.
This is a mere stanza in an epic battle that see's Holyfield
lose his title.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxXphM7xztU

Round 1 of Moorer vs Cooper.
By this stage a 'past it' fighter Cooper nearly upsets the
new HW sensation, former LHW king Moorer.

Ironically, it was another round (the 3rd, I believe) from that fight that won Round of the Year.

Also I remember the third round of Olivares-Pimentel was thrilling.

rounds 3, 6, 9 and 12, oddly enough, were all absolute classics in this fight.

Always thought this fight was underrated. I thought it was probably one of the three or four best fights I've seen over the past 30-35 years

- I'd put any round of Arguello/Pryor 1 and Quarry/Frazier 1/2 over any of these so called rounds of the year everyone touts.

Either throw a dart to pick the round or, better yet, watch em back to back to back as a whole the way God intended them to be judged.

That 9th round in the Holmes - Witherspoon war is a great 3 minutes.

Rather than constantly acting like a total pudendum, why not watch it? Then come back and tell us what you saw.

Or the 15th round of Holmes vs Norton. See how these two warriors go at after they've already completed 14 torrid rounds. Head shot after head shot after head shot.

Here it is.

If you can say something intelligent about that as far as an action-packed spectacle goes, I'll put up the Holmes - Witherspon 9th round for ya.

And yes, those fights you mention are great too but why disparage the other fighters and fans to try and get your bitter message across? Don't you like boxing?

to me that round showed why on the one hand holmes
belongs in the HOF and why on the other norton was
always a dangerous contender for everyone - but nothing
more. that "why" is ... accuracy. both utmost exhausted,
but while ken is slugging relatively widely, larry is still hitting
with precision. as if he could not punch without precision.

to me that is the same thing that differentiates ali from foreman,
as well as from ... frazier. ali and holmes used intelligence and
precision instead of brute force. you hardly ever see a wild
swing of ali or larry, but there are tons in the fights of their
opponents.

i guess if i was a boxing trainer i'd try to find ways to teach my
guys surgery-like accuracy ...

- Interesting that you would use an example of one of the best 4 golden era fighters coming near the end of his career to gild the Holmes lilly.

Though of the same age as Big George, Holmesy wasn't a member of that select golden group who spent their last every shred of greatness they had in classic battles against each other. In spite lucking into feasting on inferior or shopworn opponents and picking up less battle scars, when Holmesy reaches retirement age he's completely pinned down and shut down by a young prospect Carl the Truth Williams and then Spinks in very shabby performances. Compared to the noble effort given by Norton against Holmesy that vast numbers of viewers think Kenny got robbed in, clearly Kenny head and shoulders a better fighter.

Ok.....

I had Holmes just winning against Williams. BUT...lets say he lost....
plenty of champs have had their 'gift' wins in the ring.
Is Holmes loss, which was close...any worse than say...a Dempsey(Tunney),
Louis(Charles) etc losing to a LHW ?
And I had Holmes ahead of Norton in that fight, quite comfortably.
Holmes was a late starter as such, and developed nicely. He was able to
prove that in his late 40s that he was a capable contender and entertainer.

Your hate of Holmes hurts my heart BRR.
