Hatton & Cakes

From the interview below it seems Ricky has had a few fried breakfasts and a couple of cream cakes too many - yet he claims he has been back in the gym!!!

Sounds like he realises it's time to call it quits. He just doesn't want to say it yet as it will be final when he does.

I would give my right arm to see him have one more fight at the COMS and emphatically knock Timothy Bradley out, then retire. I mean it too.

That could quite possibly require a third arm too.

Dioufy - sorry mate but Tim Braldey may have too much for Ricky.

There is talk of Steve Forbes fighting Ricky - its a fight that is a complete nothing fight and would dissapoint if it were to happen.

If Ricky fights its purely for money - f*ck all else - now wait before any of you say Ricky has enough - I am on about the spin offs etc etc a Ricky Hatton fight means for the promotional company and those around him - not Hatton himself!!!

I think Bradley would KO Hatton now. I agree that the Forbes fight would be a complete nothing fight. Forbes is a gatekeeper to World level. If Hatton is going to fight on (which he shouldn't, imo), it should be against a titlist. But it seems Hatton would fight at 147 lbs if he were to fight again.

Bloated, going grey and slurring his words. The man is a sad parody of his former self. The next big fight he will have will either be alcoholism or obesity.

Of course it not his natural weight, but its the weight where he has performed best out throuhgout his career! However, I do think making 140lbs is very strenuous on his body. Ricky is approaching 31, so age is going to be a factor! The biggest factor is the way he lives!

Each individual in different, but I would wager that Bernard Hopkins could be retired for 10 years, be aged 55 & would not be out of shape like Ricky is right now!

Its up to Ricky what he does, but Boxing aside, it cannot be healthy for his body! It just can't!

If hatton were to return and beat tomothy bradley, especially by KO, there isn't much chance he would then retire in my opinion.

Would agree here - Hatton just looks like Hatton to me.

I think people are writing him off WAY to quickly.... I would be more concerned had the fight gone as I expected, a gruel KO in 8 to 10 rounds. He took 4 or 5 big shots, got KO'd. That shouldn't have taken alot physically from him.

Always worth pointing out that Spud was once employed by Richard Hatton, but was fired.

I'm glad to find boxrec is as judgmental and moronic as ever.

soooooo Ricky Hatton, the man who single handedly brought British boxing back the the back pages, won over the yanks and fought the best in the world has done exactly what he has been doing for his entire career and some gum chewing ne'er-do-well, who used to work for Hatton (and got fired) starts a thread pointing out that Ricky Hatton is quite fat and people start acting like he's Josef Fritzel.....

Ok guys here's a secret for you....

ok, you know what you read on here and see on SKY about fighter x being like a monk, doing everything right and never drinking, smoking, farting whatever

well

well

Its all bollocks, i have seen European champs pissed out of their minds 1 week before a world title fight and ive lost count of the times ive shared a line of Bolivia's finest with up and coming "British hopes" (and some boxing 'journalists' too)

Boxers are a bunch of working class lads with money and want to have fun, they drink, take drugs, smoke, fornicate, shit, you name it

I remember innocently saying here how a boxer i knew liked to go to McDonalds whilst in camp for some fast food and his fornicating manager PM'd me, threatening to beat me up for my scandalous lies. (classy)

The fact i saw him many times in MacD's and chatted as we waited was by the by, this guy was a pro, he didnt cut corners blah blah blah

Boxing is blighted by boxing people, come the revolution i will show them, show them all.....
