Empty excuses!!! - sorry but empty excuses!!!

Whilst Calzaghe increased in weight not at the alarming rate Hatton does.

Then you have Clinton Woods - weight never goes up that much - add Carl Froch to that.

F*ck me we could add a load of boxers who have a lot more "in between" fight discipline that Ricky Hatton ever had!! - whilst they did not have his abilities or achieved as much - they certainly had more discipline in between fights!!!

I would happily keep in relatively good shape for millions of pounds. And no one is saying he can have a good time - he can, but he takes it to the next level and goes stupidly silly. It has hampered him - he used to be Mr. Stamina, but has lost that now, IMO.

Hatton lost twice, both times it was technique, not fitness, that let him down, and look at who he was fighting, two of the best boxers in the world, and guys with a shout of making some all-time lists.

No wonder the guy lives, and parties, hard between fights, he spent his youth in a gym FFS, making the sacrifices needed to get to the top of his division, and he did that. I am sure that we are all super-toned, clean living, Adonis' here, tapping away on our keyboards, then again we could be a motley collection of pissheads, stoners, balloons, and loons, so who are we to sit here pontificating over a guy who was fit enough to come at Kostya Tszyu for round after round.
The big difference is though if you want to be the best you have to be dedicated all the time even in between fights,do you see mayweather, hopkins, calzaghe, roy jones and all those other greats 3 to 4 stone overweight at anytime,no you won't

This is a joke

Bottom line when Hatton pissed all over Kosta Tsyzu he was a f u c k i n g hero yet now he loses he is some sort of pariah. Will say it again and again the attitude of the majority of british sports fans towards our winners is a an absolute joke.

So what he likes a pie and a pint, he always has and it has not done him too much harm.

Through hard work and dedication from a young age he has earnt the right to do what the f u c k he wants whether thats fight on, retire, wank, watch porn, get married or god forbid have a pint of Guiness.

Grow up and get a life.

PS. I have worked hard all week so pretty please can I go out this Friday and get pissed and have some Kebab Meat Chips and Gravy?? Can I?? Yes?? Oh thanks very much arseholes

No need to act like a big girl. I have said, amongst others, that Hatton's social life will get in the way of his career when he's winding down. Perhaps making the weight has become more difficult, that's why he got put down by single shots against Pacquiao, buzzed by Lazcano and knocked out against Mayweather jr, after he tired. No one is saying that he can't have a break, but to put on 30lbs in a few months then to lose it suddenly will affect your career when you are in the final stretch. I just can't see why he didn't live a healthier life and eat two kebabs in one sitting instead of seven. Or have ten pints instead of twenty. It's not difficult.

And by the way, I fecking love Hatton, but the truth is the truth.

true and deep breaths bro...deep breaths. :TU:

fact is you cant say this otr that, ricky probably is the type of person who may have lost interest if he lived like hopkins, Duran was liek that...maybe he would have stayed in shape but not have been as intense we dont know....so why pontificate about it.

Oneo fthe best fighters these shores have produced and all we can talk about is how many beers he has had.

No wonder no-one gives a fornicate about boxing anymore cos half the people who are involved and follow it are utter c..... and thats the bottom line :TU:

It's a thread about his diet, not his achievements. If it was the latter, I could type a post about if all night.

"Terry,

Whether you are correct or not concerning your assumptions about me - its clearly not relevant when discussing Ricky Hatton's diet - its a rather shallow argument to deflect things onto me when we are discussing Ricky Hatton - you have written on this thread, why dont you answer properly the subject matter in hand?

But I will amuse you - No I clearly did not voice my concerns about Ricky Hatton when you state I was on the payroll - although I was never on any Ricky Hatton payroll - seen as you are seem to continually be - I will also be pedantic by stating it was Fight Academy I had an association with - but back to your question - Terry I will answer by stating - would you go into your boss and state - I think you have a problem with your diet and you drink too much? - no you wouldnt and nor would anyone else - you would use your common sense by waiting for the correct opportunity as you would not want to lose your job and in this case - I worked on a massive Hatton fight in Sheffield, worked on a show in Monte Carlo where is brother fought and then went to Las Vegas twice - why on earth would I criticise Ricky Hatton to jeopordise those trips? - I will further qualify that by stating we all work with people all the time that we could criticise in some way - however sometimes we button it as it would be foolish to do otherwise.

For the record - and if you read this thread and read my posts - I have stated I believe Hatton's achievements as a British boxer are very good indeed and the money he has earned is fantastic - but like a lot of boxers, Hatton will tell you he wants to be remembered as a ring legend and what I am stating is due to his diet, that has severly hampered his ambition in my view - there has been many occasions I have stuck up for Ricky Hatton and I would do so again in the right context.

However after viewing Ricky Hatton's interview on camera again - bearing in mind the manner of his defeat against Pacman - and in addition a possibility of him coming back to fight at "world level" - do you think it prudent for Hatton to be in the condition he is in now?"

One of the best posts from spud ever and he's right...no one would fornicate that opportunity up if you were in the same position.

Dioufy .... it isnt difficult you post after myself and wrists have posted off your topic which was becoming inane anyway, and you make reference to arsoles, who exactly were you referring to if not myself and wrists.

not that i care..but just to clear up the issue as you seem a little mentally challenged like your arsoel is wired to tight or something in this thread..
