Good, Kotelnik will show up in the best shape of his life. Man, Khan is going to get a beatdown. Kotelnik TKO 7 or 8.

Re: Arrogance angers Kotelnik
There is solid reason to believe that Khan is not up to this level. Kotelnik has proven he is world class operator by holding his won with Junior Witter. That is good enough for me. Khan has only got this chance cos Warren has pulled the strings.
Khan is a celebrity - he is a reebok commercialised millionaire - look at the boxing equipement in the Argos catalgloe - and you see Khan there advertising the equipement - but you won't see Bedis Presscot in there.
I think that Khan has the size and speed to cause smaller fighters problems - like Barrera.
But Kotelnik is a Light Weltweight - so is surely significantly bigger than Barrera.
Freddie Roach has surely improved Khan - but he cant turn water into wine - if Khan is not good enough - then its tough.
Kotelnik if he performs to the level he did against Witter - wins this fight by stoppage in 4-8 rounds.

Think im going to re-watch Kotelnik gavin Rees, I mean, Khan could smash rees to pieces, so does Kotelnik have the power to flatten Khan.

Are people still questioning this? What part of 'glass chin' does everyone not understand?Wales wrote:Think im going to re-watch Kotelnik gavin Rees, I mean, Khan could smash rees to pieces, so does Kotelnik have the power to flatten Khan.

Shocking I agree. Prescott nearly dropped him with a jab.Riddick Blowe wrote:Are people still questioning this? Kotelnik 7-9 at around 12/1 I think! Time to transfer myself to my home, the betting thread!
Re: Arrogance angers Kotelnik
Yep, still questioning it as Kotelnik, whilst clearly a superb fighter, doesnt appear to be a concussive puncher. Khan, is clearly a world class fighter with world class vunerabilities. Roach, as we all know, can develop game plans, so lets see what happens. Personally, I think Kotelnik will catch him, but will it be enough to keep him down?

Re: Arrogance angers Kotelnik
i think khan will win.
he's much faster and prefers boxing those solid steady types that kotelnik is.
the 2nd half of the fight is the acid test for khan.
i think he'll be on top early.
but can he hold it together.
massive fight for khan.

If Khan gets up again, Kotelnik can hit him and drop him again.Wales wrote:Yep, still questioning it as Kotelnik, whilst clearly a superb fighter, doesnt appear to be a concussive puncher. Khan will get hit more than once in the fight, I hardly think Roach has turned him into some defensive wizard, despite what some people who are as blind as Barrera was that night are saying.
I do think Khan will be on top early, he'll be letting those fast hands go and looking flashy against the static Kotelnik, who by contrast always starts slow.
We know Khan slows down though, he did in the Barrera fight, as early as round 5, and that was against a blind man who still managed to buckle him before it was stopped.
Kotelnik is in his prime, naturally a bigger guy than Khan and hasn't been troubled by big hitters like Maidana and Witter. Khan has no weapons against him so he needs endurance to outlast Kotelnik - something he has never demonstrated he has.

Khan loses in the 1st if he gets hit.
Kotelnik is a bigger man.

Re: Arrogance angers Kotelnik
yeah but kotelnik don't fight like a hatton and imposes that size and strength.
he waits for an age then counters at the opportune moments.
in other words he's a bit slow.
i favour khan to deal with him at range.
i think kotelnik will give him some problems though.

Re: Arrogance angers Kotelnik
I agree with Riddick - Kotelnik will stop Khan about two-thirds/three-quarters of the way into the fight. I see Khan winning nearly every round up to about the half-way point, then being on the receiving end of a few fight-changing body shots which will slow him down and open him up for a sudden, brutal stoppage between rounds 8 and 10.

Agreed. I think Khan is going to have to box an absolute perfect fight to win and keep up a high tempo. It's a very intriguing fight for sure. Kotelnik will undoubtedly catch up with him at some point and we will learn a lot then.chesh wrote:I agree with Riddick - Kotelnik will stop Khan about two-thirds/three-quarters of the way into the fight. Re: Arrogance angers Kotelnik
I'm looking at it this way:-
Is Witter faster than Khan? -yes
Has Witter got a harder punch than Khan? - yes
Is Witter a better boxer than Khan?- yes
Has Witter got more expereince than Khan? -yes
Factor all these in and the fact i though Kotelnik at least earned a draw with Witter, I go for a Kotelnik win.

does witter hit harder - yes.
is witter a better boxer - he's certainly a lot more awkward than khan. he's not better in the conventional sense though.
has witter got more experience - yeah he's a right old git ain't he.
khan lets go more than cagey bollocks ever does.
and puts it together better.
hence the reason he's better in the conventional sense.
styles make fights.

this is why I like boxing, when a fight does happen, it's almost like having a virtual pub chat disagreement! I got a cheeky bet on Kotelnik.
