what have you guys got against Mitchell, ok he is cocky but you need that, smacks of Carl froch syndrome to me.

kid is only 109 give him a chance he is british talented with bags of potential why on eartyh do you want him to fail.

i think thats a terrible shame.
No different to Haye coming out being ambitious and saying he can beat all thew world champs, thats cockyt but we all support him this.

i think its about time we got behind our decent fighters and stopeed slagging em off.

having said that I cant wait for tonight ! come on Mr Haye, .......!!!! nailing my colours firmly to the mast.

fair enough what do you want them to do bung him straight in at champ level?

give him a chance man, he is just a kid at this stage. ok if he still fighting crap opponents in 12 months time then you have a right to slate him but at the moment he is just learning his way in the pros. the options is overmatching him and him being burned out by 23. (david walker anyone, and look how critical we have all been on that particular subject he should retire etc etc)

damned if you , damned if you dont in my view.

and he isnt learning anything fighting these guys IMO

I've said before, my only real gripe with Mitchell is the level of his opposition. He's going through the early part of his career without even having to extend himself in any way. When the going gets tough and he's up against a decent fighter, he won't know how to deal with it, because he's had it so easy. If he's going to fight guys like this, then he'd have been better served staying amateur, and trying to qualify for the olympics. He's learning nothing, and sooner or later it's going to cost him.

As for his attitude, he's nothing like Haye, and you know it. Haye is a decent, personable chap, who knows he's not the finished article yet. Your other comparison is spot on, he's very similar to Froch, they both think that they're already world beaters, when they are actually both novices. Personally i couldn't care less about the way he acts, as long as he's willing to back it up in the ring. If he's such a great prospect, why doesn't he fight a live opponent and show us all.

for reasons Ive highlighted above, I agree he hasnt fought anyone decent at all but cant we just give him a few moths to learn his trade, whether you learn it in the amatuers or paid ranks surely isnt the issue, as long as you learn it.

Do you think he would be learning more in the amateurs with the in and out style, he doesnt strike mas that type of fighther, dont think we should be too harsh here, ok you know Im a huge fan of haye I was trying to make a point.

Just give him 12 months, and then lets jusge, thats just my thoughts on it, I think he comes in for a lot of unfair criticism here, its obvious he is being eased into the pro game slowly as long as that doesnt continue for too long, personally I just thik he is doing his apprenticeship in the pro game as opposed to the amateur.

anyway Im not talking to you GM, after I had slaughtered that lot on the current scene bout Naz (and I dont even like him) you had to change sides haha

I am behind Haye, I think he is a decent fighter who could become World Class.

I cant say the same about Mitchell. They are trying to build him up to be something he's not. He not going to be World class. He is way too open and doesnt even hit that hard.

I'll give him another year then, but once that's up, and he's still fighting this level of opposition, then i'm really going to lay into him.

With regards to the amateurs, his style was clearly suited to it, didn't he win a couple of junior ABA titles (feel free to correct me anyone)? It's really not even a question, where he'd learn more. If he'd qualified for the olympics he'd be fighting guys with vast amounts of experience, and much more pedigree than the feather-fisted, survival orientated, undersized punching bags he's been in with so far.

Would you say that Haye is your new Lewis then J?

I'm becoming a bigger Haye fan every time I see him / read / hear his comments. My gripe with Mitchell is that every time he bowls over another bloke who'd get four hard rounds from my gran, he behaves like he's just won a world title.

Mind you, he's probably in line for the WBFGHIJK soon

I can see the sides of both arguments re Mitchell - on the one hand, he's possibly a big UK talent and I'd like to see him do well, as the game needs it ( though there's shades of Dave Walker about him )
Looks like he hits pretty hard to me, but with the stiffs he's been fed, it's hard to tell.
On the other hand, the way he struts round the ring, scowling, after knocking out some 4 foot dwarf - you would'nt mind seeing him get a bit of a reality check.....
Haye seems a genuine nice guy, while Mitchell seems the type you could bank on starting trouble at a night club - A friend here, who lives in Dagenham, tells me Kev drives round town bear chested, with his mates all weekend in a convertible 8)
