Lomax is decent - good chin, tall, long arms and looks to have a heart. If he can extend Kell past six rounds then who knows? Although I expect Kell to stop him before the 6th. Brook looks that good. By the way, this fight should've happened instead of Brook's last fight, which was obviously one-sided.

Macklin's signed up with Ricky.
Incidentally I hear Brodie's on the comeback with Rick as well.
I was with Kel last Saturday, and he was in fine fettle.
It's not about win or blose, it's how good he does the job.
It wont go beyond 5 rounds for me.

I started a running thread on what was currently "off" the Khan card- more info there on that bout.

Who was it Lomax boxed when he got dropped by body shots but tried to claim it was low blows and when he got to his corner he wanted out but his cornerman wouldn't have it?

LOMAX got grappled to the floor in one of his fights I think against steve brumant, but never asked to be pulled out. I think you may be seeing things.

I know you like him, but I have a feeling he might struggle a bit here.

I'd be tempted to bet on him getting an (unconvincing) points win.

Not much else to go for on this fight, though.

50-1 on Brook by mixed decision sounds interesting, or 9/2 on a unanimous decision.

What amazed me is the "special bet" of either fight to be knocked down during the fight, 1/33!

Are they (especially Lomax) notably chinny?

Anyway, my predication is a points win for Brook.

You are kidding yourself mate.
The ko is 1/33 because that's what's gonna happen.
Brook by ko within 5 rounds.

Those odds are for a fighter to go down at any point during the fight- it's equally possible one of the boxers could be stopped after a flurry of punches on the ropes etc- espeically early on- without being knocked down at all during the contest.

Clearly some people have a lot of faith in Brook's power as a KO puncher!

Well, time well tell!

I certainly think Brook will win, but I can see the fight going the distance.

Brook will win this by KO but Lomax will give it a real go

I have to say the card is excellent as it stands at the moment:

Khan - Kotelnik: Close to a pick-em fight even though I think Khan will win inside the distance
Enzo-Lebedev: Tough fight for Enzo which is win or bust for his career
Hall-Small: Could be the best fight on the card, I go for Hall to win by eight but Small could outbox him
Brook-Lomax: First real test for Brook which I think he will come through with flying colours
Olympians - All should win but its always interesting to see their development

SKY better show ALL of these fights for my £15!

Well, lets see him prove himself in the ring!

His stoppage of former champion Kevin McIntyre was impressive, but to talk about a boxer as world level, when they only other two "notable" names on his record are Stuart Elwell and Barrie Jones (both of whom have previous defeats at regional level) seems a little premature.

I look forward to it.

Other than Enn--zzoooo all the title fights are being advertised as live on TV on betting sites, although I'm not sure how reliable that is.

Well I was chatting to Kel on Saturday and he was by no means certain his fight would be on live.
Fighting starts at 6.
TV coverage starts at 9 ?
Khan in at 11.
Doesn't leave much room for maneouvre because I think the Olympians will be showcased.
What you've got to understand Whicker, is that Kel has been a poorly kept secret for years.
I haven't felt so confident about a fighter in years.

Yeah, he's clearly a talented fighter- with a cracking punch- that much is beyond doubt. But as with any hot prospect, the real test "acid test" is when he finds himself up against a quality opponent in the ring- someone whom he doesn't just blow away, and who will throw hard, hurting shots back.

I'm sure he will beat Lomax, perhaps not by KO/stoppage though, and after that I'd like to see him put in with someone who will really test him- above his current level of opponents, certainly.

I appreciate fully what you say, but already Kel has made his mark in sparring sessions with what some would call elite fighters in his division.
I'm confident.
