i'm not surprised at the result how can u be after the lolenga mock fight.

seems like haye was winning and his stamina went

can't be sure of anything until the bbc show it though. :x

When will the BBC be showing it???

Boxing on Grandstand is 2.45 to 3.15 and 3.50 to 4.30.

Worth checking the times again on Saturday though.

Was at the fight. It was a strange one, Haye threw everything for the first 3 rounds and it was close to being all over a few times (Carl touched down at one point and it wasn't counted). In the 4th, Haye had slowed down a lot but still looked Ok. In the 5th he was caught flush by a simple cross, Thomson waded in, Haye had rubber legs but I was still a little sujrprised when the corner threw in the towel.

Sadly David has skills, but doesn't train properly....hence stamina is suspect.

That, coupled with a soft chin meant he would always get exposed at some point.

A real shame though....another good British fight down the toilet (Haye-Maccarinelli) although now we can have Thompson-Maccarinelli...

this is so depressing. i couldn't resist going on ceefax to see the result and after wading through the irrelevance of takaloo i couldn't believe it when i saw it.

i was convinced haye would dispatch thompson quicktime. the most talented fighter from britain for f**kin ages and judging by this may not amount to anything. i am absolutely stunned. don't even know if i want to watch it now.

haye seemed down to earth but he actually believed that he could take out anyone, and must've been convinced that a guy like carl thompson wouldn't be able to stand up to his shots.

the worst thing is that we won't get a fighter as talented again on these shores for years.

by the way, who cares about macarinelli. at least haye was exposed by a puncher, not a stubby journeyman like lee swaby.

I agree. Hopefully Haye can address his faults and come back. His skills remain after all.

And to whoever referred to these next points...

Why would Thompson need to fight Enzo Mac???

Is there actually any evidence about Haye not training properly? I don't believe it. (Don't say because he got beaten last night)
