TV Rights - KOTV?

Now, perhaps some can clarify this futher - if I am right though I think its time some e-mails were sent to channel four.

If I am not mistaken, KOTV is a British programme made for Channel 4 specifically.

Therefore, Channel 4 have acquired the rights to all of those fights, on both KOTV and KOTV classics.

Boxing rights are expensive as I have been told by Channel 5 who cannot show the big cards on even a big delay basis. However, Channel 4 have obviously acquired the right to show these fights.

So why do they have to butcher the packaging, if they are worried about scheduling, why don't they cut out the amount of "fights" they show in the classic series and just show one fight in the 40 minute schedule that they have got allocated.

I realise that in some cases (i.e. Johnny Wilkinsons' drop kick) certain parts of sport moments cost more than the rest of it, but I am sure this isn't the case with boxing (or certainly not the case in less memorable fights).

The way they butchered all 3 "classics" that they showed last week was terrible, it would be prefered if that was spread over 3 weeks.

Channel 4 have gone to the effort and finance of acquiring the rights, but they are presenting them in such a bad way that it will not attract any new fans.

Due you think its time Channel 4 were e-mailed and told this?

KOTV are shown in alot of countries. I dont know who produces the show

Is it? It is the same 35 minute show which features a weekly round up news and a few rounds of fights (generally, US cards).

Just assumed it was British as we have the British guy doing the voice over and the newspaper articles in their classic show (to try and explain what world events happend in the year) was written in Engish.

Oh well, perhaps its the producers that need a word and maybe KOTV would improve world wide.

Yep its the same, often showing fights from Michael's Eighth Avenue Club and ESPN cards. In Scandinavia its the same as in the UK, in Germany its a german narrator.

classic ones are the same ones that use to be on eurrosport.

Anyone why they showed the classic on British Eurosport?? On international Eurosport we had french or italian cards when you had the classic fights

I can't remember these, how many years are we talking about here. I remember Eurosport showing the old Superbouts show (with Holdsworth on commentary and minus Al Bernstein) - can't remember them showing these fights.

yes the same as last year on eurosport where they showed a couple of rounds of each fight. i remember tvko showing hamed - kelly benn fights and showing a few rounds to. eurosport did quiet a few last year about 11pm but never used to show them in full
