Where are they now?... Mark Kaylor vs Roy Gumbs

Post by silkov »

Just watched the Kaylor vs Gumbs fight again today, absolute cracker of a fight... brought back all the memories of the 80s when we had that string of exciting domestic middleweight matchups... Kaylor vs Christie, Kaylor vs Sibson, Kaylor vs Graham.......... where have all the middleweights gone?... the division seems to be dead today especially in Britain... but world wide the talent is very thin and the Supermiddles are not much better.
Both Kaylor and Gumbs would probably pick up 'world titles' if they were around today... as would Sibson and Graham......... anyone know what Kaylor and Gumbs are up to these days?. Gumbs seemed to fall apart as a boxer after the Kaylor fight... shame really as he was a very good boxer/puncher and came close to winning against Kaylor, a rematch would have been good!.

Lat I heard about Mark Kaylor was back in 1997 when he was working as a fitness instructor and had won an out of court settlement against Terry Lawless.

Sadly, I believe he lost his claim against the miserly Lawless.

I was very disillusioned when I heard about all that buisness as I had always thought that he cared about his fighters!.... it was a very mean thing to do!... :x :x :x :x :x
