Jordan has a training camp at the end of July to early August then again a few weeks later. From there, they fly back to Italy and are there for about 3 weeks until mid September.

No triple crown for Jordan. The dual against Great Britain is during the time of the National PAL tourney.

The Italian website has info about the bouts. http://www.worldboxingmilano.org/

I can't read Italian and most on-line translators do a poor job. I know the part about Jordan talks about Russo, being a true Marcianise, became the spokesman for the Italian team. It says that Russo is spectacular against any opponent. It then talks about Jordan Shimmell being taller, but unable to take advantage of his reach against Russo. Russo offered his usual show which was much appreciated by the public. Russo is why people support the sport and it is confirmation that even in amateur boxing people will follow you if you have talent. That was the gist of the article.

The article also mentioned that there were more than 4,000 fans in attendance for the July 12th Italy vs USA dual.

They have the Great Britain dual listed for the #1's not the #2's. The President's Cup is for the #2's if AIBA will allow it, but they may require the countries to send their #1's. If so, then the #1's will have to go.

The Great Britain dual including the preparation camp is scheduled from October 18-25, 2009. I know that one day of competition is scheduled for October 24th in St. Louis. I would guess that the other day of competition would be on October 22nd, but know for sure.

The Great Britain dual is a little different. There will be three days of competition spread out over three weekends. The first competition date is scheduled for Friday, October 16, 2009 in Norfolk, VA. The second competition date is Saturday, October 24, 2009 in St. Louis, MO. The third is set for Saturday, October 31, 2009 in Des Moines, IA.

The first competition will be for the USA #2's.
The second one will be for the USA #1's.
The third one will be for the USA #3's.

So the GB team will compete against 3 different USA teams. I'm assuming that it will be one GB team comprised of their #1's, but I don't know if that is true.

im sure that aiba aint gonna make that big of a deal if we dont send our 1's. as long as they send a usa team that will be fine. its our responsibility to pick who we choose. so im pretty sure the 2's will be going to the presidents cup

Hi all

Just a heads up that someone has posted the first round of Jordan Shimmell's bout with Clemente Russo at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPnrI_Q7xAM

(hopefully more rounds might be added later?)

Jordan looked pretty good...a little cautious/defensive with the Olympic silver medalist but not intimidated at all.
