Carl is fighting in Middlesbrough this Friday, he is managed by Barry Mcguigan and is often based over at Clitheroe with occasional trainer Kevin Maree. He's from Belfast and was a very impressive amateur. In my many years around boxing gyms and fight promotions I have to say he is one of the most impressive little fighters I have ever seen. I don't want to give him too much hype as its very early days but I'm laying it on the line here...
He will one day win a world title if he maintains his current development and discipline. He's that good.
I urge anyone going on friday to check him out and give us some feedback. His power for a super bantam is frightening and I think he's going all the way.
I don't post here to often but those who know me will attest that I'm not really the type to get too carried away but seriously this kid is very, very good.

Boxing wise I am currently personal training but specifically to boxing. I'm also assisting Kevin Maree and will be in the corner for the upcoming Gerard Ajetovic- Yassine El Maachi fight. I'm going to be covering a lot of the northwest shows for the new Boxrec site so hope to improve my writing so that maybe its 10% as good as Terry D and Ian.Wales wrote:What you doing now Jeff? I can no longer fight as my asthma is utterly impeding now. I'm just trying to pick up a few snippets off all the best coaches and with a bit of luck might be going with Kevin to spend some time with Freddy Roach at the wildcard some time in the future. I've not cleared it yet but i'll be going in Kevins suitcase if he doesn't invite me.
Kevin has got a fantastic set up over at Clitheroe its a luxury hotel with a state of the art gym and with Kevin probably been along with Adam Booth one of the most qualified trainers (scientifically) in the sport it was only a matter of time before this was recognised.
Barry Mcguigan has been working a lot with Kevin of late and as a by-product I get to tag along. I know how to train fighters, i've got lots to learn but i'm just biding my time picking up as much info as I can and hopefully in the future can become a bit of a player at top level.
Some of the trainers within the sport right now are brilliant, but others are con-artists who got lucky. I'm not a particuarly lucky person so I've got to learn twice as much to make sure i'm sucessful.

ive seen frampton box over here in the ams , looks really suited to the pro game although he was a good little amateur , he won the nationals a few months ago and im surprised he didnt stay on for the world championships in a couple of months
